OT: Amaker candidate for Boston College job
I realize that there have been a few other posts about Tommy Amaker's success at Harvard, but just noticed this piece indicating that he is a leading candidate for the Boston College job:

Obviously, moving from the Ivy League to the ACC would be a step up in facilities, income and potential recruiting. That said, my sense is that Tommy is in a good position at Harvard. Whatever he lacked as a floor coach here, his recruiting has made up for there. Anyway, while I know that worrying about an ex-coach's career choices isn't exactly the point of this blog (especially when we're all pretty pleased with the current coach), I have always thought Tommy was a good guy, did a decent, if not great, job here and thought that Harvard made a lot of sense for him. Coaches always seem to move to the higher league, bigger name etc. but I think this move could be a mistake and am curious if anyone has thoughts on that.
Only a non competitive person would stay at Harvard. Tommy is still young and a competitive guy, at least that's what I believe. He'd be cheating himself if he stayed at Harvard if the opportunity to go to a bigger program presented itself. I might be proven to be wrong but we shall see.

Not Capapari-Pittino-Krzyzewski money, but within spitting distance of a million when you count everything. It's as much or more than a lot of other coaches at higher profile schools. He's had a chance to go to the ACC before - he met with Miami in 2011 - and used it to sweeten his package at Harvard. Had he gone to Miami, he would probably be making half to a third again more than he is making at Harvard. But he stayed.
I think it is more likely that he uses BC's and VT's interest to do the same again, and stay at Harvard.
That's a step down from Harvard.
As Im a sports writer, Sports news are exiting ones to me. I never miss this. In the newspaper, or even in blog I look for it. Thanks for the update. gothic punk pants
