Yes, the fact she needed to be coaxed by others to report a sexual assault by a famous football player at a bar isn't proof that in 2009 (and 2010, lest we forget he was accused by two women over 2 years) society didn't make sexual assault victims feels particularly empowered or safe to come forward but instead was just proof that she was faking it. I mean, it's not like the first officer at the scene said something like "[w]e have a problem, this drunken bitch, drunk off her ass, is accusing Ben of rape"

Going to climb out on a limb here and say that maybe, just maybe, the difference between L Carr saying he already had the transfer papers filled out and boosters offering dudes 300,000 to stay might be different enough to cause a changed outcome on the back end. Ben and his friends would go to a dance club in the south side. Long story short, he crashed a private party, tried hanging around all the women, and got aggressive with the guys there. I know this bc I was one of guys there- this was before his rape allegation, but once that news broke I was not surprised. Dude was a choade before and probably still is now.
