No speed in space and the defense is a shit show. Don Brown sucks. We will never win with the Old Guard still in charge.

Honestly, this is just a down year. Its 2017 again. The fanbase's expectations are way off from what the reality of the caliber of players on this years team is. Especially on defense. We lost 3 of the best players that I remember since '06 in last year's draft. Bush, Winovich, Gary. You dont just replace those type of guys immediately, and this is why Bench Mason has to be a defensive lineman. We also lost Mattison, who was much better at developing defensive line talent tha was given credit for.

On offense, poeple think you can just run #speedinspace with tall possession receivers and an average qb that is a below average decison maker. This is not the case. We dont have the type of wide receivers that Ohio killed us with last year, fast guys that can get a ton of YAC. This is not what Tarik and Nico are capable of, it's not their game.

Now you can certainly blame Harbaugh for recruiting an OC that needs different types of players to run his system, and blame him for the types of players we have on the team. This is legit. But I dont think Harbaugh is a bad coach simply because he can't have a solid team every single year. Year 5 or not, teams nit named Osu, Clemson or Alabama have a down year every few years, and this just happens to be a down year for us.

Hail Harbo

It's not supposed to be a down year, we were sold on the notion that with Harbaugh's recruiting and the Harbaughnizing of all his guys, and only his guys, plus an advantageous schedule, year five would be a championship year.  To my amateur eye Hoke's team with Harbaugh's staff in 2015 was immeasurably better than the pile of crap we're seeing now.

Hate to break it to you, but the people you are listening to are wrong. Every year the hype machine comes out to hype up the fan base, and people buy into it regardless of the facts. Facts are we lost a bunch of Dudes on defense last year, and our DL is razor thin. Matisson, who's been a huge part of the DL development over the past 8 years is also gone. Our D isn't what it was, so they aren't making the stops like they used to. Our Offense is still terrible. When you look at this it's not surprising that this will end up being a down year. I'm just not sure how anybody was able to predict that we will be in the playoff hunt, based on it being year 5 of Harbaugh alone.
