Big VT fan here and a lot of what the other posters are saying are correct. Offensively, VT does not consistently have any deep threat and play calling is atrocious to say the least. VT is probably going to try and pound the ball off tackle with David Wilson and use option plays with Logan Thomas up the gut with Wilson to the outside. David Wilson is definitely the best offensive player on the field, and IF he actually had any kind of blocking would be having a hell of a year. David Wilson is going to bring speed to burn and to be honest, I think he could run with Denard, the guy really is that fast and he can truck smaller LB's and DB's. What Wilson does sacrifice in his run game is he has had a bad case of the fumbles and quite often gets himself into trouble fighting for extra yards. As far as the receiving corps Marcus Davis is more of a deep threat, Jarrett Boykin is a big bodied receiver similar to Michigan’s Hemingway, and Danny Coale is a possession receiver (also the starting punter unless Beamer starts getting funny with his freshmen).

Defensively VT likes to be aggressive and it gets them into trouble, however Bud Foster can usually come up with a good game plan given time. VT's top shutdown DB is Jayron Hosely who is a ball hawk but was injured in the ACC title game so I'm not sure how he will look come time for this matchup. I really expect VT to come up with some good blitz packages this game but I think it will be a few too many and they get burned a good number of times.

Special teams have not been VT's strongpoint this year at all. Freshmen punters have not been performing and starting receiver Danny Coale is the likely punter and is doing pretty decently, but I really don't recall VT bring much pressure on punts this year at all, it feels as if Beamer has just gotten scared the this year. VT also lost its best return man to a broken arm at the beginning of the season and has been pretty mediocre on returns.

I'm going to predict UM-31 VT20 hope to be going to this game.

and thanks for the info.  I have a lot of respect for the VT coaching staff, and I'm sure they will have your team ready to play.  I am confident we can win, but not by some of the scores I've already seen predicted.

I'm sure you'll be lurking for the next month, and I'm sure you'll be well received, but keep in mind there are always gonna be haters.  Best of luck getting to the game.

Thanks for the welcome to be honest I've been checking out Mgoblog for a long time and this is the first time I have had anything to add to a discussion. Been a UM fan my entire life and just received my BS from VT so UM is the only team I wouldn't be pissed about losing to. No matter what I'm coming out a winner in this one.
