OT- Pancake blocks in NCAA football 11?
Hey everyone-
So I know many readers are devout players of NCAA football 2011, so I had a quick question for the board:
Looking at the awards list for Rimmington trophy, best OL, etc. I noticed that the CPU OT's had like 30+ pancake blocks, while the leader on my team (rated 95 overall) finished with only 5 on the year.
Is this stat broken, or am I doing something wrong?

When I actually play all of the games, my guys don't have nearly as many pancakes as the CPU stats. I think it's just a glitch which is also in Madden.
It's like that for me too. I think some of it is that we don't play an entire full length game we just play 5 minute quarters or whatever we adjust it to.
When I tried simming my games, my OT's suddenly piled up monster stats. It seems to be just affecting human players
Think about it this way. Your game is only on 5 min quarters and when the CPU sims other games it has them on full games with almost 4x the amount of plays. Just a way I always viewed stats in that game.
Your stats won't be affected by the game length or else when you simulated you would always have over 600 yards rushing. If your rush for 180 yards on five min but "all the computers are playing a full length game" then everyone else would have 500 or so yards. Every game.
The stats don't rack up the way they normally would in real life no matter what position it is. I had a MLB who was the highest rated at his position in the country (98 overall or something) and he was ranked somewhere around 700 in total tackles. And the crazy part is that I do 10 min quarters and simulate all defensive series.
change your blocking scheme to aggressive.
Quarter length is the issue. But if you want to get your guy the Rimington, just use Player Lock and lock in on your OL. You can then flatten the guy across from him. I get tons of pancakes that way, particularly in short yardage and goal line situations.
Another factor is which skill level you play on. I wish they had one that was just realistic, where a more talented player will play better, but if you play on Heisman, even your 95 OL will get run over by a defensive lineman in the 80s quite often.
When you simulate games, I am pretty sure it just uses the ratings straight up, so a 95 offensive lineman will dominate a much lower defensive lineman.
the issue of difference in simulated game time length as opposed to yours. Compare your Offensive ranking to your Defensive ranking. For me my Rush D is 1-3 and my Pass D is 1-10 without fail. However my offensive numbers much, much more average and I play on Heismen.
