OT: NFL CBA framework may be ready by weekend
Per Dan Wetzel from Yahoo! Sports:
NFL “secret” labor negotiations this week are expected to continue to make such progress that at least one source familiar with the situation says the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement could be in place by the weekend. If so, the two negotiating groups representing the owners and the NFL trade association, meeting in the Baltimore area, Yahoo! Sports has learned, would return to their full parties to present what could be the deal that would end the three-month lockout before nearly anything football related is even lost.
Hopefully they can come to an agreement as I need Sunday football to recover from UM Saturday's...

Fingers are crossed!
Sunday football is the ONLY way to recover from football Saturdays in Ann Arbor.
I hate to long my life away, but I can't wait for football season. The Tigers are making the wait bearable.
The NFL is a huge ATM for everyone involved (except the fans). They were going to play no matter what. Huzzah!
The Lions are finally on the right path. This is no time to miss games.
because the CBA is key on whether RFA is going to be UFA or not. I would like the Lions to sign Johnathan Joseph(or Richard Marshall), Justin Durant and Stephan Tulloch(in addition to resigning Chris Houston). The Lions should be set on the defensive side for the time being.
They could only do all that if there is no cap in place, which I am sure there will be.
have about 114 million committed to the roster. The cap is likely to be at 130-140 million so they have about 16-26 million to spend. That's more than enough to sign all three FA.
You aren't factoring rookie contacts into that equation.
allocation.
I credit Steve Breaston. There is nothing that a good poem, written and delivered by a proud Michgan man, can't accomplish.
Ever since Makhtar Ndiaye's epic 1994 poem ended Apartheid... /s
I'd rather see no season than a season in which the owners have a much sweeter deal for themselves.
Those of you who have been following the situation more than just rooting for football to come back should know what that means. NFL owners are the ultimate cartel and greedy to the core. Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft in particular make me sick.
Looks like things aren't so peachy afterall.

This really should not be a surprise. Like I said, the owners in that league are on another level of greedy and seem to have completely lost the concept of the sports franchise as vanity project. DeMaurice Smith is not a lapdog and is not going to take an insulting offer.
This is not a good mix. Don't expect to see a full season.
Lol what has Bob Kraft done to make you sick? He doesn't do anything controversial.
Jerry Jones on the other hand, is one of the most outspoken and one of the silliest owners in sports. I can see why everyone hates him.
Kraft and Jones are two of the three owners leading this entire charge. No matter what his public persona is, behind the scenes he and Jones are one of the same.
