to play football, not to play trumpet
Watching the Bulls/Cavs game and caught a new (?) Adidas commercial that is part of their "Here's to the Takers" marketing thingy. Check out the 8 second mark. Pretty awesome to see a local/pipeline high school get featured in such a huge spot.
Will embed below if it doesn't work here.
It seems like kind of a slow news day, so I'll throw this "breaking news" item out there.
Michigan offered Cass Tech safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell today. He's a 2017 kid whose other offers are from a few MAC schools and Northwestern. He's one of two 2017s out of Cass Tech that Michigan has offered so far, joining WR Donovan Peoples-Jones. There were will probably be more, too.
OSU was his previous favorite, but the Weber situation seems to have changed that. He's the #3 in-state prospect for the 2016 class.
"(Meyer) said he didn't know about (Drayton) leaving, that it was a last minute thing. The most important thing about my 'misleading' part was that I didn't really understand the process of recruiting behind Ohio State. I truly do now.
I understand the ambition Urban Meyer has, I understand the integrity of Urban Meyer and I understand that he's about the welfare of the child and the wholeness of what the athletes need at the university. He instilled in me that no child will be left behind in his program.
We did meet. We did talk. And he is the person I thought he was and the person I believe him to be. I believe our relationship is stronger now."
-Thomas Wilcher (cited)
I figured the board may be interested given how Coach Wilcher had previously blasted Urban Meyer about the Mike Weber/Stan Drayton situation:
"I think Urban Meyer will have to step his game up; we're going to have to talk," Wilcher told Detroit Sports 105.1 in a long interview. "He has come to my school and got the No. 1 athlete two years in a row. You cannot come over here, come up to the north, and walk out of here with your pockets full and not give us respect."

Just posted on Rivals message board. Mike Weber (Cass Tech RB) in an interview with InsideTenn blog:
"Up there it's just football, but down here it means so much more. There's a different passion about the sport and I love that."
"All the coaches here make you feel like family," Weber said. "They made sure I felt like I was at home."
"I don't have a decision or time table right now," he said. "I'm just taking my process. Tennessee is the top school right now. Wherever I go I want to come in and help the University the best way I can to win and win bowl games."
"The facility is crazy," the 5-foot-10, 185-pound back said. "It's by far one of the best, if not the best one I've seen so far. I can really see myself here because it would be a good fit for me. The weight room really stuck out to me."
FYI - It could be Mike putting out quotes to see if Michigan comes calling after the Harris commitment per Tim Sullivan
