-Denard is excellent as we thought, but its fair to say he far exceeded expectations for his passing. The o-line was solid, but it's fair to say they were not dominating in run blocking-pass blocking however was great.
-The defense has many holes, tackling is still an issue, as is the secondary, and Brandon Graham is impossible to replace. Strong game from Roh.
-We continue to have problems CATCHING THE DAMN BALL, which is frankly, a nightmare. Kicking game was ahem, an issue.
-The effort and unity of the team was impressive, and looks very positive for the rest of the season.
An excellent win to be celebrated, Looking to ND, I'm already concerned about Rudolph and Floyd. UCONN receivers were wide open all game, and drops killed them. But we'll worry about that Monday. Go Blue!
Anyone know the reason behind showing the Slippery Rock score from Thursday on the video board during the game today when they were going through national scores?
My favorite play of the game was J.T. Floyd's helmet-to-ball forced fumble inside the 20. Huge. Made a statement for the defense. Made a statement for Floyd.
What was your favorite (not necessarily the "best") play of the game?
So, that win was huge and all-around awesome. Great work boys and congrats. Anyway, I saw Brian tweet that he saw Terry Talbott leaving the stadium prior to the game in street clothes and there could be some clearinghouse issues. Does anyone have anymore information on Terry and all of this? Thanks.
My smug Notre Dame pal is already insinuating that Michigan's D is suspect due to UConn being able to move the ball. Well, I've got to point out that holding a 300+ lb O-line, which was blocking for a previous 1200yd back and a USC-transfer fullback, to only 138 yds rushing was a good start to the season.
The Michigan D wiping that smug look off my Irish friend's face next weekend would be even better. Go Blue!
Obviously today was an awesome day and many things can be taken from it. I think one of the best is that it was apparent that RR and his staff outcoached Edsall in every facet of the game. They adjusted to us at the end of the first half and we rammed it down their throat at the start of second. Also, that screen pass to V. Smith was a thing of beauty. There is no doubt which team had the better coach today. Hail to the Victors!
