Here are today's Big Ten Tourney matchups (all times EST):

(1)MSU vs. (8)Iowa - 12:00

(4)Wisconsin vs. (5)Indiana - 2:00

(2)UM vs. (10)Minnesota - 6:30

(3)OSU vs. (6)Purdue - 8:55

Here's an overview of how the regular season matchups went:

MSU crushed Iowa in the regular season (95-61) at home, but Iowa has shown they can be really tough.

Indiana and Wisconsin played each other once in the regular season, with Wisconsin winning 57-50 at home. This game is the obvious choice for most likely "upset" since both teams are pretty evenly matched. It'd hardly be an upset if Indiana wins, though.

Michigan beat Minnesota at home (61-56) in the regular season. Minnesota can be a tough team.

OSU and Purdue played once in the regular season, and Purdue gave OSU fits in Columbus, though the Buckeyes won 87-84.

So, which team do you think is most likely to pull off an upset?

Aside from Indiana (which, as I said, wouldn't really be an upset if they win), I think Purdue has the best chance to do it. They played OSU tough earlier in the year, they've got a go-to guy in Robbie Hummel, and they're coming off a good win over Nebraska last night.

Going into the game Friday against Minnesota, I am interested in hearing what your thoughts are on Michigan seeding possibilities are based on how Michigan does in the conference tourney.

I think most people can agree Michigan is a firm 3 seed if the season ended now (end of Thursday).

Here is what I think:

Michigan loses to Minnesota.  Result:  4 seed

Michigan beats Minnesota and then loses in semi-finals.  Result: 3 seed

Michigan loses in the finals.  Result: 3 seed

Michigan wins tourney.  Result: 2 seed

...I think some of this obviously depends on how other teams do that are in contention for these seeds

I was just surfing the wayback machine to see what I could find about the banners such as news releases and I found a picture of the vacated 1998 Big Ten Tournament Championship banner.

I could not find out the details on this picture given the wayback machine can only render so much data on old webpages, but I figured I'd post it since people (like me) had forgotten what it looked like. Also the fact that the only known surviving picture of the vacated banners on the web today is the infamous one of Greg McKinney taking down the 1992 Finalist banner.

Great article just posted on ESPN about former Michigan star Rumeal Robinson. From making the winning free throws in the National Championship game to his greed that forced his own mother out of her house and landed him in prison.

It's a good read for anyone who isn't familiar with the story.

He took her to the city courthouse, where Helen thought she was agreeing to a loan for her son. Instead, she later testified, she unwittingly sold her home. She signed a deed that gave ownership of the house to Preston. Then she went with Preston to the bank, where she thought that the roughly $250,000 she received was a loan. It was, in fact, her proceeds from the sale.

 

Michigan will play the winner of this game tomorrow at 6:30 on BTN in the B1G quarterfinals. People seemed to be split on who they wanted Michigan to play, but most people were hoping for an OT game to help drain out both teams a little. Good game so far, if you can turn it on.

Georgetown's loss might push them behind us if we win at least one game.  It certainly could help us firm up a 3 seed.
