04/22/2018 - 8:00am I too would never forgive

I too would never forgive myself if I signed a multimillion dollar contract to play basketball when I was 20 years old. What a mistake that would be

04/18/2018 - 12:50pm Nope

If you watch the NBA at all, you can tell Matthews isnt ready. I mean who knows, maybe there are some teams who need a guy who just figured out how to pivot within the last few months, but I'm not so sure.

Basically, if he declares teams will sit him down and say "your jumper sucks and you turn the ball over too much, we won't draft you", and then he'll have a choice to make. I think we here in the MgoUniverse are at like 95% certainty he'll be back next year. He's an NBA prospect with legit athleticism and awesome wing defense, but he needs to smooth things out, mainly his jumper/handles. That's what's holding him back right now. I'm not saying that because I want him back, I think the general consensus is that another year in college would do him a lot of good. That's why you see him listed in a lot of articles

04/18/2018 - 12:42pm We need more Austin Davis

I just want an excuse to tweet "BIG COUNTRY OOP" alot next year

04/13/2018 - 11:10am I love this

This makes me very happy, thanks guys. Screw Cleveland

04/13/2018 - 11:08am Lololololol

Playcalling was too complicated? Man go back and watch some games. The schemes got simpler and simpler until it was literally just checkdowns and out routes to TE's. This roster was KILLED by injuries in every positiion group besides RB, and it showed. Blame the coaches all you want, I'll stick by the (correct) theory that last year was an anomaly and better things are ahead.

04/13/2018 - 11:03am 2018 is gonna be great

This team is a pair of tackles away from 11 wins fellas. Buckle your bootstraps and delete those old fire Harbaugh tweets, cuz its a new year

04/13/2018 - 1:21am Whoops

Commented on the let's start again post yesterday that Ibi would break out and be a baller. Whoops. Thats disappointing

04/12/2018 - 1:37am Next year is gonna be awesome

I fell in love wiht Ibi Watson 3ish years ago when he first comitted and i saw his hair. I think he's going to break out next year. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but i also thought DJ Wilson was a steaming pile of crap up until he became the best PF in the B1G in a year where the B1G had some pretty good PF's. So like, i dont know man. John Beilein is a wizard, and I''m calling my shot on cult hero Ibi Waston.

03/31/2018 - 10:23pm CJ Baird

CJ Baird was the leading shot blocker in this game, and is shooting 100% from 3 on the season. Can you say "best two-way guard in the country"?

03/10/2018 - 9:48pm Gonna be a fun March. Can't

Gonna be a fun March. Can't wait to see Beilien make sausage out of every coach he goes up against in the next few weeks

It's irritating that this game is gonna be this ticky-tac. Can we just watch basketball please?

03/01/2018 - 10:29am Next Year

So excited for the 18-19 team. I'm just curious about how scholarships will work out? Obviously nobody wishes Moe gone, but with Matthews playing so meh He's the only viable candidate to leave early. Right now we're at 14 scholarship players for next year, per umhoops scholarship breakdown. Maybe I'm completely missing something, but unless we have someone transfer we're over the scholarship limit, right?

Regardless of that situation, the prospect of returning Moe, Matthews, Poole, Z and Livers is amazing, especially in conjunction with the recruiting class. I think this team has a legitmate chance to be the 1st or second best team in the B1G for the next few years, especially if MSU ever sees any real repercussions for what has gone on there for the past 4 months. This team is looking like a 2013-type with multiple alpha-dog scorers, a decent ammount of athleticism, and the best dang coaching staff in the country. Can't wait to see what they do!

01/03/2018 - 10:45am I would agree, he’s got

I would agree, he’s got things to work on that might be a turn off for GM’s. I think what REALLY holding his stock back is his ability as a takeover player. There’s times where he looks like a dude and times where he fades into the background. Once he shows consistent scoring/passing/ rebounding (which he is completely capable of) then he’ll get those NBA calls

01/02/2018 - 10:12pm Nah. He’s definitely an NBA

Nah. He’s definitely an NBA prospect, but this is his de facto Freshman year considering how blah and short lived his Kentucky career was. I think both he and the NBA are gonna recognize that another year of development would be in his best interests. He looks like a solid second round pick right now, but it also seems like he has the capability to work his way into that 15-20 range in the 1st round. All that to say my money is on Charles Matthews being in Maize and Blue next year, not the G League

12/13/2017 - 9:55am The best part of this game

The best part of this game was Dick Vitale constantly saying that if Texas would just dunk the ball more they'd be winning

05/17/2017 - 5:49pm Ehh

From a purely objective standpoint I totally agree with you. If DJ comes back and averages 15/10/2 or something like that, he'll get picked wayyy higher. But there's other factors in play. He could get hurt, he's had 2 really serious injuries before (his back in HS and something in his leg his freshman year, can't remember), so that definitely plays into his decision. Also, he's 21. You know who else is 21? Karl Anthony-Towns. Age matters to NBA teams because athletic peaks are so short, and a 21 year old rookie isn't exactly a home run in the age category.

So I agree, another year of development is probably better for him, but if I was DJ and I'm looking at $4 mil in guaranteed money or another year of college and the possibility of no money, I go to the NBA.

05/06/2017 - 6:20pm GRIII

That gif of GRIII dunking against Nebraska happened to be my first ever UM bball game. The dunk was the highlight of my year

05/03/2017 - 11:58am Hate follows

Maybe I've misunderstood how this works but how does @Ace_First and that one rutgers fan whose name is CHOP that i cant find his twitter account not make the list? or Graham Couch? I hate all of them with equal fervor. I attempted to have a civil discussion with @Ace_First in which i conceeded that maybe JT WASN'T short and he got mad that i wasn't an angry troll. Why do these people exist.

03/19/2017 - 10:52pm I totally agree. I miss him

I totally agree. I miss him

03/13/2017 - 12:42am Love this team

1-2 weeks back I was listening to Mlive's podcast with Nick Baumgardner and Brenden Quinn a few weeks back, and I head Quinn mention Walton had a list of goals for himself and the team that he made at the beginning of the season. One of those was win the BTT, because even the Burke and Stauskas teams that were supposedly leagues better than this team couldn't do that. Well, he just accomplished that goal. And make no mistake, he couldn't have done it without this team around him, but this team could never have sniffed a BTT championship without him. So congratulations Walton, you'll always have a special place in my personal pantheon of great players and leaders in this program.

01/31/2017 - 10:03am So basically you're saying

So basically you're saying he's going to be playing for the Patriots in 4/5 years

01/26/2017 - 1:33pm Can't hire one more coach

Can't hire one more coach till the NCAA rule passes. They vote in April (?) so one would assume Michigan's 10th assistant coaching spot would be filled by a running backs coach, which probably pushes Jay Harbaugh to either full time ST or something else
