How in the world do you back off a struggling freshman QB that had not been throwing well...literally rushing 3 over and over and begging him to run in the open field (something he was likely starving to do vs. our LBs). After that drive, Barrett looked like a new man. The guy has run an ultra soft D for two years and really needs to go ASAP.
rushing 3 over and over against a struggling, nervous freshman QB is one of the most gutless, ultra conservative, play not to lose things I have ever witnessed on a football field. He literally blew the game right there.
Was his strategy really to take pressure off of him to pass (which he was NOT doing well) and force him to run (he is one of the best in the country in this regard) by our outmatched LBs?????
The only team they've played that will finish ranked at the end of the season, abused them. Cousins looked horrible vs the worst OSU team in 15 years....minus 4 of their starters. BTW..Brady Hoke was a good choice Brian. Yes, defense and ability to pound the rock and control the clock a bit works in the Big Ten...who would have thought?
