How about this?

Twas…

How about this?

Twas the night before “The Game”

and all through the land

Michigan fans were excited.

You must understand.

Wins against the Buckeyes

had become few and far between

Watching highlights from 20 years ago

had started losing it’s sheen

Names like Rich Rodriguez

and Brady Hoke

had left fans of Ohio

thinking our team was a joke.

But four years ago,

folks in Ann Arbor started to chatter.

The media came quickly

to see what was the matter.

We’ve got a new head coach

reports were told.

He’s a little bit new

and a little bit old

They introduced Harbaugh

and Michigan fans

got all excited

They said “This is our man.”

“He’s had success in the Pros

and in College too.

He’s the one

who will know what to do.”

“And he’s beat those damn Buckeyes

He’ll be just the trick.

Let’s get to The Game.

Let’s get there right quick.”

But it wasn’t that simple.

The Buckeyes were tough.

And for the next three years.

we didn’t have quite enough.

Overtime losses.

Untimely interceptions.

Michigan fans again

Started getting dejected.

“Harbaugh isn’t the answer.

He’s an overpriced clown.

He can’t beat those Buckeyes.”

Michigan fans started to frown.

Then the 2018 season

started with a loss

Here we go again!

Fans were getting right cross.

But then wins started mounting

and hope came back too

Is this the year we beat the Buckeyes?

Could it be true?

The pundits said “Yes.

This should be your year”

And Michigan fans

gave a resounding cheer.

But the game isn’t over.

It hasn’t begun.

Given past years,

I’m not so sure it will be fun

But the team looks solid

And the Buckeyes look weak

They gave up 51 to Maryland

Only just last week.

So “On Peterson! On Higdon!

Let’s go Peoples-Jones!”

Fans, let’s get cheering

No more moans and groans.

A Big 10 Championship

is in our sites.

And a berth in the playoffs?

That would be more than alright.

All of these worth dreaming about

As Michigan fans sleep tonight.

So I’ll just say “Let’s go Blue!

And to all a good night.”
