Just FYI, Michigan doesn’t have “judge lined up”. The judge will be assigned by random draw. Michigan needs to file the request for the TRO, then contact the local US Marshalls office, and they will contact the appropriate court staff. Im not sure if they have a weekend judge who covers for everyone, or if each judge has someone sitting on emergency duty if a case gets dropped on a weekend/holiday/
Hit my 4i in a league playoff today from 170, into the wind, to 15 feet. Im a 9 Index. I still love my long irons (I also carry a 3 and i probably hit it 4-6x/round). Middle age Dad here.

Hear, hear brother. This team was awful to watch, and i suspect if kobe goes, next year is going to be tough too. but all the vitriol being heaped on Juwan by keyboard commandos is reminiscent of Harbaugh's covid year. Re-trench, Re-tool, Re-commit is what JH needs to, and i expect will, do.
I believe Michigan will win 10 coin flip games in a row, all on improbable buzzer beaters, in a Valvano-esq run to the national title. Kobe, Jett and HD will all return, bc none will be satisfied with the losses and criticism they endured, and engage in a revenge tour season for the ages next year.
no-one that I can recall has ever mentioned it, but I assume that those reporters that follow the team know a lot more than they say. I've been to most home games this year, and frankly, Jett's non-verbal on court communication between himself and his dad is the worst I have ever seen between a player and coach. Jett barely looks JH in the eye, doesn't seem to take criticism/instruction well, etc. (although that has improved over the last month, just as the team has).
Im not criticizing Jett for that - he's 19+ years old! I have kids that age, and believe me, they wouldnt/couldnt play for their dad as a coach. It's got to be real tough.
that doesn't even get into the fact that he's a college freshman living on campus with mom and dad. seems like that limits some of the experience too.
I don't know mama Howard at all; I can imagine a scenario where she knows what goes on in the NBA and she doesn't want her 19-20 year old son running in those streets just yet. seems to me that's the best/only chance of him coming back
AS for Kobe, I think this is about the greatest in season growth we have seen in a Michigan player over the Bielien/Howard era. You could reasonably project him to be a lottery pick (10-15) if Michigan gets 6-7 more games between this week, the BTT and the NCAAs. he might end up going before Jett! I assume that if he gets evaluated that high, there isn't enough NIL to keep him, which is in the "why can't we have nice things" bucket.
with all that, lets go 2-0 and get to the second weekend in march again!
UMhoops/Dylan posted a site that let you put the teams in, predict their reg season outcomes, and it would spit out the seeds. how we go 1-1 matters a lot. beat Illinois, we could still end up the 6th seed. beat Indiana, we could end up the 3rd. but of course, win both and we are the no. 2, without worrying about tie breakers. lets make it easy! (nothing has been easy this year)
I was pretty amazed to read the entire column and not hear a single mention of TW. The commenters got it right. That is the first time i have ever said that - sometimes these comments can get poisonous.
Anyway, it was obvious to those of us in the arena that TW was an anchor all night. And yet, at the 512 mark, he got inserted back into the game. No surprise that is when the O went on hiatus. By the time JH finally pulled him out - after his ridiculous Turn over; not to mention when he clogged the lane and cost HD a layup - it was too late.
Has there been a worse M starter in the last 10 years? Donnal in Freshman MO’s year maybe?
As far as next year - what do you think this team looks like if Both Kobe and Jett leave (Jett is projected top 15, and Kobe has looked like the baby Caris he was projected to be lately). Ive been watching Jett all season at home games, and his body language screams that he doesnt like being coached by Dad. Realistically, what 18-19yo likes to listen to their dad give them pointers? I can tell you from experience - none of them!
I watched the last two Indiana games - Wins over Purdue and Rutgers. I was really impressed by their tenacity on D vs RU. They looked like Rutgers playing D! And at the same time, TJD was really distributing it well out of the high and low post. Plus, his speed and moves seem to be likely to put HD into a blender.
Bottom line, i have very bad feelings about this one, but OTOH, if we do pull it out, its sets us up for a real charge at the bubble.
Kobe looked like a pro prospect last night, and really over the past couple weeks. The Athletic wrote about it already. He looks a lot better than Caleb did, thats for sure. He’s like baby Caris. Caris did stay 3 years, and Kobe is a shade younger than Jett, so hopefully he will stay one more year, but he could go and get drafted.

Tschetter, despite the box score (he only had 2 points and no Rs until the intentional foul at the end) brought more energy to the Defense. You could hear him calling out switches from the top of the lower bowl!
but, and maybe this is what outsidethebox is referring to, i could feel the coaching staff’s reluctance to do that to him. Harbaugh’s mantra of competition doesn’t seem like it’s as applicable here. Maybe for good reasons! But that’s one change we needed.

Let’s see: A Backup QB to replace bowman, check; TE to replace All, in a position that really didnt have a solid, tested backup, check; 3 OL, to replace the 3 OL who are likely leaving, check; a LB to replace Barrett (i am now assuming he wont take his covid year and come back for #6; if he does this is even a stronger position), check; a DE to add to a roster that has one glaring weakness on D, an edge rusher, check!
What a day! Looks like we are going to Phoenix and then the re-match with Georgia. Just like the 1980 hockey team, we needed to see Georgia one time to see how good they are before we can take them down. Go Blue!
why would the raiders do anything other than retain their interim coach? with all the distractions of this year in LV, he kept the team focused and got them to the playoffs, with a great win last night. of note - he learned from his earlier mistake of putting in mariotta on a critical drive for 2 plays, then being forced to lean on Carr for a 3rd and 4 which he didnt convert. In OT, he let Carr win the game, with a great sideline pass. that earns respect in the locker room; they dont want harbaugh bringing his act to them. of course, the NFL owners rarely do the smart thing, so maybe the logic is all wrong here!

The comments OTOH, especially on football columns, are a cesspool, and have been for a long time. *not all comments/commenters. Its why UM Hoops is such a great resource for basketball - great posts, and higher quality comments.

Feel like I will share my story. I was playing golf with a former Det. Piston. We were both mid handicappers, nothing special. Playing an easy match. Lots of bogeys. 13th hole, we are both in a fairway bunker. I hit the green! All of sudden, the guy locks in, hits a mid iron from 15 to 3 feet. Nothing over the prior 3 hours hinted he could hit anything like that. 18th hole, he drains a snake to win the match by 1. Pretty funny.

After scoring 50 points in the second half vs indiana, MSU is going to win out until they get to us, and then lose game 1. Game 2 is going to be for their tournament lives.
This is a great idea (if also a great burden!). As long as we are on pause, if you all could pick one game to give the treatment to, that would be awesome!
Including the “suffering” of fans as a reason to play is so offensive. If i miss my weekly dose of Joy (and it is that), i will get over it. And frankly, as the parent of two college aged kids, their desires are hardly what I would be basing my risk/reward analysis on.

Not to be too critical of Smith (i love what he brings), but i keep hearing a focus on 10 assists vs 3 TOs. No one seems to mention that at least 3 of his 0/6 shooting were wild drives with no chance. Those 3 should be added to his TOs, bc they all resulted in quick breakouts.
But still, stuff like this happens; learn and move on.
Well put. I was thrilled when he came. I went to OSU to watch the one game where we had a chance. I ignored the strange/predictable way we used peppers on O, and all the other head scratchers.
I used to joke #fireharbaugh as a sarcastic attack on the haters. But no longer. He can stay thru the end of the season, bc this is college and not the pros. But then, he has to go.
Expectations are measured; hold serve at home, against everyone but maybe MSU; beat N and NU on the road; if we lose one other home game, we end up 9-9 in big ten, maybe a 6 in the B1G and a 6 in the NCAA. If Z (X?) can will us to an extra road win or two, 11-7 in this years big ten would be great and deserving of a 5 or maybe even a 4 seed. Thats a great wrap up for Z’s career and a great start for JH. Go Blue!
