I am a liftetime um fan, but have recently stopped drinking the kool-aid and instead decided to do my own research. We may have dominated the Big Ten in the past 60yrs, but have been less than stellar in bowl games and have 1 national championship. That is right, 1! Little brother has 2 in the past 60yrs.
We as fans are so arrogant about our proud history and we should be proud, BUT who cares about us dominating the 30s and 40s! Wake up! We act like the Big Ten is an amazing conference. News flash! 2 national titles from the Big Ten in the past 25yrs. Not what I call a power conference, not to mention our stud team this year lost to a TCU squad that runs a 3-3-5 defense.......wierd.

FYI: BIG TEN FOOTBALL IS OVERRATED!..........Compare how many NATIONAL TITILES we have compared to the other major conferences over the past 20yrs. It's embarrasing! Big Ten Football is, and has been behind the curve for a while.......the spread is the future. What offense does Auburn and Oregon run????Oh yeah, the spread!
I love UofM, but how many national titles do we have in the past 60yrs???? Oh, 1! Michigan State has more than us!! Does it really make sense to go back to our old ways? I say absolutely not! Unfortunately, for everyone.......change like we have experienced takes time.
Great post, I couldn't have said it better my self. I have no interest in Harbaugh and the i-formation.......that does not equal national championships..........maybe some of you need to look back at how slow we looked against Texas and USC in our bowl games under Lloyd.
I don't want to be patient anymore than the next guy, but changing now would not be a good idea.
Also, I have finally come to admit that "BIG TEN FOOTBALL" is overrated. Its something us UM fans don't want to say, but its fact. Going back to 1989(past 20yrs), the big ten has only 2 national titles........PAC 10 has 3, BIG 12 has 6, ACC has 6, SEC has 8.
Another interesting fact.........little brother (MSU) has more national titles in the past 50yrs that UM. Yeah, we have dominated the big ten in the past, but have not been a power house in the national title column for quite some time.
