W8, Sec 55 7 of us total coming from Denver/other parts West. Let's go blue!
Woodson but that's a personal bias since it's our lab's name. I'll be looking for the Hello: post tomorrow.
Co-sign on baseball game first I took my 6 & 5 year old dtrs to the OSU game this year and made it from the band entrance through the last blissful snap and watched the field get stormed. We did it 2 ways - first we went to a baseball game that summer & made it through 8 innings (got the kids used to the length & flow of a sporting event). Second, I borrowed my Father-in-law's advice - "keep feeding them until they stop eating, then it's time to go.". Not that we were mainlining nachos all game, but I did not turn down the extra cracker jack request - and I got to sit through an amazing football game, with my daughters there too.
It probably didn't hurt that we've been brainwashing our kids about good (UM) and evil (OSU) since they could understand us. But, now both my kids can't wait for our next trip back for the MSU game this fall.
Hope that helps. Enjoy raising your young Wolverine.
Go Blue
I'd guess

about 15%, but that is a random guess admittedly.
Vey rewarding profession once you get through residency.
Tanq10 + tonic for me tonight. Cheers all...

RIdonkulous

I feel kind of dirty for watching but have no plans to stop

This game is an acid flashback

to last year except if we never really had to punt & our defense was worse. What a game! Far better than 9-6 IMHO...

Tanqueray

& diet tonic water - a concession the waist & clock have mandated. Still recovering from the "blue flu" I picked up back in A2 last weekend, but wouldn't trade in the memories of that game for anything, including better health right now.

Class of '83

Knew the tune as soon as I saw the words. Great anthem and better playground; the education was 1st rate too - though all I remember was recess. Thanks for rekindling my memories.

Hoke, past as prologue

In the last 40 years, the best UM football coaches have either been an unheralded MAC coach or little-known (nationally) coordinator. But, both took UM either almost to, or to, the top of the mountain nationally. In short, neither Bo nor Lloyd had national "buzz" prior to taking the UM job, and in each case, their coaching stint had less to do with them personally than with coaching at block M Michigan.

For better or worse, Michigan remains a brand, and a powerful one at that. Look at the last 3 years, specifically the number of nationally (ABC/ESPN) televised games we have appeared on regardless of our record or the quality of the team we have put on the field. Coaches in the past who have recognized and embraced this, and "meshed" their egos within the brand - Bo's most famous quotes, put on T-shirts by Beilein, are of "The Team, the Team, the Team" - have been very successful here.

I believe Hoke is from this same vintage. He has a similar pedigree to both Bo and Lloyd. Moreover, he hired a DC with far more pedigree, and perhaps more UM roots, than himself. He does appear to be more of a delegator than inventor, and that is quite fine with me now. I will miss the dynamic offense of the last 1 1/2 years. I will miss MGoBoard discussions of Florida High School electrons potentially darting across Michigan Stadium for future years. But, I will not miss the 3-3-5; I will not miss special teams ineptitude; and I will not miss a 7-6 record as the zenith. I am excited for the coming year and years to come. I think Hoke will turn out to be a far better recruiter than initially presumed, and under Mattison I see our defense becoming frankly nasty within 2 years, if not less. Further, our enemy in Columbus has been up to a great deal of malfeasance, a recruiting and competitive bonanza in the right hands (and I believe Hoke/Mattison fit that bill).

I am glad that I had the opportunity to see UM become a spread offense at some point in my life. It didn't work, unfortunately, and now it is time to go back to the "old days' when we will (hopefully) bemoan the aesthetics of 31-14 victories vs MSU (ytMSU). I look forward to the road ahead.

Hail!

Jack Morris

One of my favorite Tigers (even shares my birthday) and then a cold-blooded assassin for the Twinkies.

Hail!

In Vegas, beer:30, and we just ran Tennessee off the court. Very good day..

Hail!!

I love this friggin' team! Coach B's best coaching job yet. Let's beat tOSU tomorrow!
May liquor and good times come to all on this board tonight. We are coming out of our athletic program-wide tailspin at last!

Back to the future!!

Going to bed with a smile

with the buzz of Tanqueray and tonic

Godspeed Tate

but we need his scholarship for a QB this fall. Preferably pro-style, but anyone not named after someone inaugurated as leader of the free world 50 years ago today would be appreciated as QB3.

Tabasco is good

but nothing will ever top chipati sauce to accompany pizza.

How I miss Pizza House. Haven't been able to find anything anywhere close to that divine sauce since left A2...

I call BS on that story

Maybe I'm either drinking delicious blue kool-aid or am an early and previousky unbeknownst Hoke-maniac, but I see us winning 2/3 of ND, ytMSU, and OSU games for 9-3 final.

these aren't tears of sadness

i was just cutting an onion

for one

Agree

He's the best remaining candidate given all the names thrown out there thus far. I have but three questions for my esteemed MGobloggers:

1) Can he recruit "high-end" (4-5*) talent consistently? I profess no knowledge of TCU's recruiting classes, but our best defenses have historically had at least 1-2 undisputed studs; we need such ability given OSU and ytMSU's recent success against us, risk of ceding future such recruits to those nefarious institutions, and the black hole that will likely be this recruiting class barring last minute miracles.

2) What's the nearest airport to TCU?

3) Did GERG take the stuffed beaver with him or leave it behind for the next DC?

The one constant between 2008 & now

isn't the AD or anyone in his office. Not that DB looks like he wields a pimp hand at this moment at all; quite the contrary, he (& unfortunately UM) come across as bumbling & behind in a coaching search late in the recruiting calendar.
However, especially if the stuff about not even seriously considering JH on the basis of DUI or prior divorce has any merit, then MSC has some tough ?'s to
answer about 2 poorly executed coaching searches in 3 years.
I remain hopeful a home run choice exists, but not based on prior search or this one this far.

Thanks Brian

for the excellent work on the Gator Bowl and all previews this season. Hard to believe that in 24 hours we won't be able to discuss actual football games (excluding the spring game) for 9 months. My heart says UM, but not with much confidence. I will enjoy the ride regardless and root like hell for the team, the team, the team.

GO BLUE!

Excellent choices

Might I add a couple other gins that I favor:
1 - Tanq 10. Probably tops all comers. Outstanding in martini (dry) & sublime with tonic.
2 - Leopolds. A small batch gin actually made in A2. Lucky enough to get it out here in Denver - similar to Hendricks but with a touch of anise-like aftertaste, if that is to your liking.
In any event, enjoy your libations tonight & all nights!

Tanqueray

& tonic. The drink which IMO is always in season. T minus 2 hours...

I can only recognize Henri

from his face-on shot; the camera angle of the furry mammal GR was waving about was too difficult to make an ID.
If any furry creature is going to the shoe I would recommend hypnocat.

Never thought I'd see Henri

during OSU week, but these are not normal times for UM football.
Hopefully Magee can call - and DR execute- the games of their lives on Sat. Maybe if we drag them into a track meet our Barwising will make them crumble in the 4th quarter? Please??

I liked them both too

They were the best executed ST plays all day - the ball was still loose after 10 yards & we were unlucky not to at a minimum get the first one.
I would humbly suggest we onside kick practically every time - seriously. I don't have the figure handy, but I would guess that approx 10-15% of the time kicking teams recover. I would take those odds to keep our O on the field versus the significantly higher (approaching 100%) the other team scores regardless of where they start their possession.

We beat them in 2008

with Threat as QB, punctuated by his 60 (!) yd run. D Rob is a touch faster than him. If he can remember that if no one is open by the time he counts to 3 Mississippi, and then tuck it & run Wisky is toast.
Blue 49
Bucky 38

PBR

in a can (what it comes in, not where I'll be savoring it)

After the last 2 painful seasons

Muppets are welcome at any time after any victory. I have at least temporarily stopped bemoaning the lack of aesthetic in any W; it will probably return, but for now victory by any means tastes sweeter than ambrosia.

Also - I would be very cautious about the future use (if any) of hypnocat. 10 TO's and a driving rainstorm just initially come to mind. That's a wickedly powerful feline...

Point a minute

Since OT doesn't use game clock, this team is now in the company of Fielding Yost's marauders from early last century.

Reading this UFR convinces me that we should have hung 65 in regulation. Incredible.

Karma is a bitch

and she is slapping the sh!t out of sparty now. Absolutely delightful to watch.

Kickoffs?

IIRC, the coaches mentioned early in camp that Hagerup was in the running to handle kicking off. Can he possibly be worse than what we have now? Two OOB's in the 4th quarter was IMHE the most inexcusable sin of the 4th quarter. Give big Will (yes that big Wiil) the chance!

conservatively left on the field by the O was and will be too much - all though on correctable mistakes/misexecution. I feel cautiously optimistic this performance is an outlier & that DR will be dilithium again on Sat. Thanks for the as always outstanding analysis Brian.

I am chugging gallons of Maalox to prepare myself for "the tuberculotic defense" tomorrow's UFR promises though.

It's only on standard def

wisdom of ESPN.
SD really sucks too
