I am really happy for all…

I am really happy for all the Michigan players living their dreams and starting their NFL lives!  But Man!   I didn't think it would be this hard to let go.    I knew they were all gone, but I am sad that I will never see them wear the Maize and Blue again.    Best of luck!   And thanks for the memories!

Congrats Mr Colson!    Make…

Congrats Mr Colson!    Make us proud!    I feel he is going to thrive with his coaches!

Congrats Mr Jenkins!    …

Congrats Mr Jenkins!     Spread that Michigan culture and make us all proud!

Man, they are getting a good…

Man, they are getting a good one here!   So proud to see the Michigan guys finding homes!

Wow!   Already a crazy start…

Wow!   Already a crazy start to this 2nd rd with trades and picks I have not seen predicted!

While I would love to have…

While I would love to have players that step in and start, look at the Lions depth chart.   I don't think its even out of the realm that Arnold doesn't start, or at least not right away.   I am not sure anyone taken with our 2nd round pick comes in and is given a starting role.   I think it will  have to be earned as the season progresses.   I don't think we have ever had a Lions team where this was the case, but it may be the reality this year.   Of course certain packages, or injuries will dictate what has to be done.   They really didn't need Gibbs last year, but what a compliment to Montgomery.   I don't want to see any injuries, but depth in the right places could be the difference this year between a 2nd rd exit, and a Super Bowl.

Sainristil has a high IQ.  …

Sainristil has a high IQ.   I don't remember who it was, but read one of the Washington players said they were pissed at him during the National Championship because Sainristil was telling him his route before some plays.  I am not going to question the Lions if they do take him, but 2 years ago he was a wide receiver.   Does it seem that crazy that he could learn to play slot CB, or even start at some point at CB, and give a defense more coverage options?  And who wouldn't want a guy on your team like him if this year he is just depth and special teams.

I love both Colson and…

I love both Colson and Sainristil, and feel they both could be depth and high level special teams as well.   But I agree with your options!   I think there is more value in the players you mention with the picks we currently have.

The posts above have really swayed my hopes tonight.    I really hope they can find a way to trade down, and get a pick or two more.  Another 3rd and/or a 4th could really spark this years draft.

What we have to work with in terms of acquiring more 2024 picks ;

Detroit Lions 2025 draft picks

  • Own first-round pick
  • Own second-round pick
  • Own third-round pick
  • Own fourth-round pick
  • Eagles' fourth-round pick (via the D'Andre Swift trade)
  • Own fifth-round pick
  • Own seventh-round pick
  • Cowboys seventh-round pick (via Terrion Arnold trade)
  • Jets' seventh-round pick (via the Denzel Mims trade)
I don't think there is any…

I don't think there is any chance Dejean is there for us at 61.   I am hoping that even if involving the 2025 picks, we trade down from 61 and try to get a pick or two more in the 3rd and/or 4th rd.

I can understand that…

I can understand that 1VABlue1.   I actually call him Mikey, because I got my sister into football for the first time in her life this year, and what a year to become a fan!    Her favorite defensive player was Sainristil and she calls him Mikey.

I didn't know this, and…

I didn't know this, and while surprised....   I love this stat!    He seems to play with touch, and to know he has that good of a arm is extremely impressive!

The Cowboys received the No…

The Cowboys received the No. 29 overall pick and a third-round pick (No. 73), while the Lions moved up five spots to draft Arnold. Detroit also received a 2025 seventh-round pick as part of the trade.

Wow.   I was just gonna…

Wow.   I was just gonna watch a few mins of this and could not turn it off.    It was just a amazing year!   I cried when Michigan won the National Championship, and told my family that it made every loss, and every tough year my whole life being a Michigan fan worth it.  I was 18 in 97, but 2023 topped 97 for me 10x.

And my whole life I have had people laugh at me for being a Lions fan.  Every year I got my hopes up only to be let down hard and usually early in the season.   Its truly magical the culture they have going right now.   I can't wait to see what they add in the draft!   I can't wait to root for both in 2024!    So freaking inspiring!

Go Blue, and Go Lions!

Whole new ball of wax when…

Whole new ball of wax when it comes to baseball.   Many of the stars in the early 1900s were just horrible people. Womanizers, alcoholics, drug users, abusive.  It really comes down to what the governing body decided vs what the fans feel.   I don't think the fans directly have the power, but the game would mean little without the fans.   I don't need MLB, or the NCAA to tell me Reggie Bush or Pete Rose were good or bad people.   I enjoyed the way they played the game.   HOF or not, Rose is the hit king.   Heisman or not, Bush was the best player in 2005.

I can see that point, but…

I can see that point, but imo...  Bush was still the best player that year.   Did getting paid give him any advantage over the other players?    Different story when it comes to performance enhancing drugs, which is just impossible to prove now.    As far as I know.

I feel like everytime I log…

I feel like everytime I log on, we have a new commit.   Dusty sure ain't no joke when it comes to making it happen!    Can't wait to see them on the court!

Curious about Tuttle.  …

Curious about Tuttle.   Obviously we don't have details on his injury, but for those in the know...  What kind of timeframe would he need to be practicing to be in the competition for the season opener?    I understand this is somewhat of a guess, but I am sure some here have a better educated guess than I do.

First glance...   he sure…

First glance...   he sure looks like a Michigan Man!    Welcome young Man!

Just read that out of HS,…

Just read that out of HS, Tre wanted to play both Basketball and Football at the college level.   Played QB and Safety in HS, and was predicted to become a starter in the secondary had he played football.    I don't think this means much now, but likely says a lot about his athleticism.

Wow, Dusty is putting this…

Wow, Dusty is putting this together fast!    Go blue!      Seems like these players don't even hesitate on if they want to play for Coach May.    I love that!

I am pleasantly surprised by…

I am pleasantly surprised by the group of recruits coming in so fast, but it sure seems like Dusty knows what he wants and how to get it!    Go Blue!   Hope this continues and can't wait for the start of the season!

I did watch last years team,…

I did watch last years team, and while we had a great running game, we won quite a few games mixing in a well balanced pass offense.   If we can't have some balance, then a few loses will come because of it.    Last years team was not one dimensional.  But not saying this years team will be either as of now.    Its just unclear at this point who will step up and make our offense a bit more balanced.

I feel the same after the…

I feel the same after the game than I did going into it.    I think our Defense is going to be one of the top defenses in the country again.

I really hope we add depth to OL, and WR.  The past two years we brought in a solid starter to bolster the OL.   I don't know if we need that, but it won't hurt to add a piece or 2 as depth to continue to dominate the line of scrimmage.

And WR worries me.   We are solid, but no one really stands out and we might be a injury away from having some play out of position, or just not having experience on the field.

QB seems like it a big unknown.   I have heard many say that we just need a game manager that cuts down on turnovers.    We can have a good season with that, but don't see any chance at the playoffs with game manager type QB, or a 2 QB system.

I don't have high expectations from the portal, but hope we can bring in a few to sure up depth and maybe give a spark that ignites the offense.   We have to be more than a run heavy offense in todays game if any chance at a Big Ten Title or a Playoff run.

We need a few WR's imo.  …

We need a few WR's imo.   There will be injuries and just hoping our core stays healthy is not gonna cut it.   I would love a true #1 WR (tall, big deep threat), and then a couple depth/special teams guys from the portal.

Very true, but can never…

Very true, but can never have enough depth at OL.   We brought in a proven starter the last two years to compliment the depth.   Would love to see that again, or at least more backups.

Warren was the #1 QB in this…

Warren was the #1 QB in this game by far imo.    But still need some WR's and would love to see them add depth at OL, and look at any QB in the portal to see if a fit.

Orji was limping bad on that…

Orji was limping bad on that run.

Denegal also played OLB in…

Denegal also played OLB in High School and had 3 receptions on offense.   Position change?

I feel like a 2 QB approach…

I feel like a 2 QB approach is admitting that we don't have a true #1

I like the culture, and…

I like the culture, and expect some great things to happen this year!    But we really need someone to step up as a leader on offense and I think we need to hit the portal hard.  WR(starters/depth), OL(starters/depth), and at least look at a QB.

I think there is some good…

I think there is some good with what the QB's are doing, but dang....  we need to pick up a WR or 3 in the portal.

I hope we see some signs to…

I hope we see some signs to come for this year, but PLEASE!!!!!    No Injuries!

Thanks.   Love the list!

Thanks.   Love the list!

boom...   its Michigan!

boom...   its Michigan!  Lets hope this is just the start of great recruiting for Dusty, and the Michigan Basketball Program.   I feel like in todays game, $ is going to be the main factor, but would also love to know that players want to be here and play for the coaches and the logo on the uniform and what it stands for!

I don't usually pay…

I don't usually pay attention to recruits visiting for the spring game, but that list seems really small?   I hope there are more that are not listed.

4:30 live on 247 sports.   …

4:30 live on 247 sports.    Fingers crossed.

Why can't we have Coach…

Why can't we have Coach Beilein visit Axel Schultz and Beate Wagner and convince them to have more sons?

I am sure it has nothing to…

I am sure it has nothing to do with JJ's actual play and that he dominated every team as a starter within the game plan.

But Harbaugh gets reads and thats what the media loves.

I actually feel for MSU…

I actually feel for MSU lately.    All the friends I have that are Msu grads or fans are just defeated and think they will never win again at anything.

On another note...   F OSU!

I can only imagine that this…

I can only imagine that this takes some time off the end of your life.   Why would someone even want to do this?   If I actually met someone that did this, I would not be impressed by them or inspired in any way.   I would think they are a bit crazy.

if JJ came back, we are the…

if JJ came back, we are the favorites to win the title.    But that didn't happen and the obvious hurdle in the Oregon, Texas, and Ohio St games are about our offense.   If we can have a offense that can somehow create balance with the run and pass....   we win.    If either has any issues, then it simply comes down to turnovers, field position, special teams, and luck.  I still think we have the advantage on the off and def line in these games, but we have to get something out of our QB(s).  And we can't lose any game we are supposed to win.  Meaning no let down weeks.   Gonna have to bring it every week, because even the worst teams are gonna make us their game of the year.

I am forever thankful for…

I am forever thankful for the Natty, but he gutted the program.   I don't really think of him as a Michigan man anymore.   When has any coach ever went back to their roots....  then after success left and raided the cupboards like he has.    Even if things work out with the new staff, it just breaks my heart how he didn't just leave for himself...  he gutted the staff, and made it tough on the programs future.

I feel like the lions got…

I feel like the lions got there when maybe they should not have.   Showed up great and could have been in it at the end with a couple fgs they passed up.

But this team is damn young and really wasn't expected to make a run even in the NFC until next year.    I think the future is really bright for the LIONS.    Its only gonna get better for them with the offseason draft and free agent market.    Players want to be here now.    Its the place to be if you want to make a impact and win.

I love him for what he did…

I love him for what he did for us, but fuck JH.   How in the fu*k do you leave and at this time and screw your team you built.

If you read 11 warriors.... …

If you read 11 warriors....  They think they are going to win the Super Bowl with their college recruiting.   hahahaha

I never imagined this.   …

I never imagined this.    NEVER.    It was the greatest day of my life.    Its all I ever wanted my entire life in terms of sports.    It can't get any better.   TEAM 144

I shed tears.    That was…

I shed tears.    That was the most amazing things my eyes have ever seen!

wooooooooooooooooo!    Fuck…

wooooooooooooooooo!    Fuck yeah team 144!

all about the defense.   C…

all about the defense.   C'mon Michigan.    Shut the damn door!

I never ever in my wildest…

I never ever in my wildest dreams thought we could start like this.   Washington looks confused on offense and defense.    I love this team!!!!!!!!!!!!!
