11/08/2018 - 1:46pm YES! This. Absolutely no…

YES! This. Absolutely no reason to root for OSU.

The Game will matter to Michigan no matter what.

I don't understand how some people feel like OSU winning is a positive thing.

Ohio State losing (baring catastrophe) raises Michigan's floor to an appearance in the BIG Championship game. Plus it's Ohio State losing.

This might have been my favorite Opponent Watch yet. Laughed at the Battleship references.

11/01/2018 - 10:55am There is some seriously…

There is some seriously flawed logic in this post.

1. The SEC champion (assuming it's one-loss Georgia or LSU) will get into the playoffs.

2. One loss Alabama will get into the playoffs.

Why do I believe No. 2 is true?

Because one-loss Alabama always gets the benefit of the doubt.

Alabama has five national championships under Saban.

Know how many undefeated seasons they have under Saban?

One.

Four of their national championships include a loss.

10/26/2018 - 11:26am I want another OSU loss…

I want another OSU loss. Another loss for them and a Michigan win over Penn State should wrap up a spot in the BIG Championship (assuming Michigan doesn't crap the bed against Indiana or Rutger).

Another OSU loss with a victory over PSU means the worst Michigan should end up is with a spot in the BIG Championship game.

10/26/2018 - 11:22am Agreed.

This, 100%.

Agreed.

This, 100%.

Anything that makes Michigan's argument better. If a team is thought to be in the playoffs or in contention for the playoffs, I root for them to lose.

The exception will be Alabama in a couple of weeks against LSU. Bama needs to win that game. Bama always seems to get the benefit of the doubt and them losing against LSU could be bad for Michigan as it could mean two SEC teams in the championship.

That and an undefeated ND and Clemson would be no bueno.

Okay. Here come the MSU breaks. Let's go. Stay strong.

10/20/2018 - 4:18pm Yes!!!!!!!! Let's go. Huge.

Yes!!!!!!!! Let's go. Huge.

Idiots. Stop with the personal fouls. Control yourselves. It's amazing how these guys cannot get out of their own way.

10/20/2018 - 4:14pm Wow. I was totally against…

Wow. I was totally against that play call. Thought punt was the right move with the defense playing the way it is.

Worked out. Nice job.

Just make plays.

Dear all people who said the weather threads were stupid.

That's exactly why weather matters.

10/20/2018 - 3:31pm Exactly. This is when you…

Exactly. This is when you have to step up and play, coach and act like a nationally relevant football team.

10/20/2018 - 3:30pm Okay, everybody saying game…

Okay, everybody saying game over is ridiculous.

Yes, the lack of aggression is absurd, but this game is not over. MSU still hasn't moved the ball.

10/20/2018 - 3:28pm I cannot tell you how easy…

I cannot tell you how easy this game has been to predict.

If I can easily see how this is going, why can't the coaches?

10/20/2018 - 3:27pm Absolutely ridiculous. It's…

Absolutely ridiculous. It's amazing how easy this game has been to predict so far.

10/20/2018 - 2:47pm This is terrible

This is terrible

10/20/2018 - 2:46pm Would be nice to have all…

Would be nice to have all three timeouts right now. Or a multiple possession lead.

10/20/2018 - 2:40pm Yup.

Yup.

10/20/2018 - 2:38pm Gotta get more aggressive on…

Gotta get more aggressive on first and second down when on MSU's side of the field.

10/20/2018 - 2:36pm Yup. Just can't let him get…

Yup. Just can't let him get a lucky pass or a timing route that gets him in rhythm.

10/20/2018 - 2:35pm Ugh ... I feel like…

Ugh ... I feel like everybody can smell one big fluke or wide open play coming for MSU and all of our collective asses tightening up for the next two hours.

10/19/2018 - 12:12pm Did you see the FFFF on…

Did you see the FFFF on their offense? I mean, it's hard to believe he sugar coated that FFFF. Every offensive lineman had a cyan circle.

10/19/2018 - 11:03am I think my favorite thing…

I think my favorite thing about these weather threads are the posters who get mad.

Why get mad?

1. It's a football message board.

2. If you don't think weather impacts sporting events and outcomes (especially football), you haven't played a lot of competitive team sports.

3. If it really bothers you, don't click in the damn thread.

10/17/2018 - 4:44pm This really is not true…

This really is not true. Beat MSU on Saturday and the Wolverines can drop one game against PSU, IU or Rutgers as long they win in Columbus in the season finale.

10/17/2018 - 2:01pm It's definitely the most…

It's definitely the most important one this year up to this point.

10/17/2018 - 12:55pm It absolutely is a huge game…

It absolutely is a huge game. The most important of the year, so far.

If Michigan wins, it means they control their own destiny, even with a loss to everybody else besides OSU.

If Michigan loses, it's goodbye to the playoffs, controlling our own destiny and national relevance the rest of the year (even if somehow things work out for a BIG championship).

Plus there's the other factors:

1. Shutting Sparty fans up

2. Shutting Sparty fans up

I can't stand Napoleon complex fans ... and they are the epitome.

10/16/2018 - 12:13pm This is concerning.

Rain…

This is concerning.

Rain and wind would make it very difficult to pass the ball. That plays right into MSU's hands.

10/15/2018 - 4:23pm I am worried about this game…

I am worried about this game. People call it luck, but the truth is there's a reason people expect games against MSU to be ugly: MSU forces teams to play their style. That's not luck .. it's strategy.

Somebody threw out the possibility that there will be 20-25 mph winds this weekend in East Lansing. I hope that's not the case. That's going to make it tough to throw the football. That plays right into the type of game MSU wants to play.

10/11/2018 - 3:38pm This is exactly what I want…

This is exactly what I want to see. I really hope the offensive game plan isn't all about manball and instead we see a game plan specifically in place to attack their lack of pass rush and below-average secondary.

10/04/2018 - 6:03pm Actually, I was yelling at…

Actually, I was yelling at the screen during the Northwestern game about this.

Where's the pre-snap motion? Where's the tempo?

I understand what Harbaugh wants to do, but sometimes I feel like Michigan's offense doesn't do the simple things that give an offense an advantage.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but it bothers me that the offense's motion and tempo remind me of the 90s.

09/15/2018 - 4:34pm For the love of all that is…

For the love of all that is holy, throw the damn ball on a down/distance when everybody is expecting a run.

09/15/2018 - 4:30pm Please come out throwing the…

Please come out throwing the ball early in the set of downs (with good blocking).

This offense is getting awfully predictable.

07/24/2018 - 2:28pm This is how I feel.

Maybe…

This is how I feel.

Maybe not a failure, but definitely a disappointment. There are signs things are improving and there are signs that we're going to see more of the same.

People keep saying that if a single play goes different then there are more wins against the rivals and everything looks better. I agree with that. 2016 was so close to being a playoff year. But it wasn't. It's also true that the team hasn't been good enough to put itself in a position where one fluke play or call won't change the outcome.

And the reason for that is the offensive performance.

The quarterback situation and the O line situation is surprising and definitely falls way below what everybody was expecting when Harbaugh was hired. Anybody saying anything else is lying to themselves. These were staples of Harbaugh at Stanford.

Remember ... he was the quarterback whisperer. Remember ... mgoblog was breaking down how difficult the Harbaugh offense was to prepare for due to all the shifting and how the o-line/tight ends dominate and create mismatches

Harbaugh also has had bad luck.

2016 was his best team so far. Both OSU and MSU were on the road. 2017 was rebuilding and both those games were at home. Now in 2018 those games are on the road again.

Is that the biggest deal in the world? No. But it just shows that those little breaks aren't lining up for Harbaugh so far.

06/12/2018 - 10:11pm 1. Tom Hanks. 2. Denzel. 3…

1. Tom Hanks. 2. Denzel. 3. Ed Norton (although he seems to have fallen off a cliff and doesn't make movies anymore)

05/31/2018 - 1:42pm It's weird

But I have no issue with any of those predictions.

So many people get annoyed or try to debunk one prediction or another. I think this year can go in a lot of possible ways. Each of those predictions tackles one of those.

One thing that I think doesn't get mentioned enough right now is that things aren't naturally lining up for Harbaugh. In 2016 he had an experienced team that had to play its toughest games on the road. 2017 saw an easier schedule overall with MSU and OSU at home (Penn State obviously was a difficult road game) but the team was inexperienced at numerous positions. I think 2018 looks a lot like 2016 where the team is better but, again, the schedule doesn't align.

It will never happen because of the division, but I really feel like Michigan/Harbaugh could use a year like Wisconsin had last year. All everybody sees when they look back to last year is how Wisconsin was 7 points/one game away from playing in the playoffs. We're five months removed from last season and nobody mentions that the Badgers' best regular-season win was against an above-average Michigan team with no offense.

04/27/2018 - 12:18pm No idea

I have no idea if Shea is the answer and we all know the schedule is brutal, but, man, I feel like we all, as a collective fanbase, just needed some good news about Michigan football.

That Patterson news yesterday got me pumped.

Jim Harbaugh focusing on football and staying out of the news with everything else has me pumped.

The upcoming season is going to be a fun ride.

This

100% not on the refs.

This was Nova hitting its open shots and a few that weren't open. Michigan didn't. That's it.

This was a great defensive team with an average offense. And it's showing against a complete team.

But, man, the ride was fun. This team provided so much enjoyment.

Ugh. Simpson so far. Not good.

03/27/2018 - 1:27pm It's the same with almost

It's the same with almost every fanbase.

Almost every fanbase thinks it's different. In reality, it's not.

Except for Texas A&M and Michigan State. They are a little different. Angry Napoleon complexes with those two due to Texas/Michigan being in the same state and getting more attention. Admittedly this has softened with Michigan State due to its football success this past decade.

As a former member of the sports media, this is not typically what reporters set out to do.

Are there some bad apples like in any profession ... yes. But,overall, the media is not out to get teams.

If you look at the media as a zero sum gain, then you're going to view the media as being against Michigan this week because Loyola and it's awesome 98-year-old nun is the better story so that's what's going to receive more attention.
