Would you like to see alcohol sold in Michigan Stadium

Submitted by Blueblood2991 on

Saw this a few weeks ago that they are doing a study at OSU considering selling alcohol at games.  They would join Maryland, Minnesota, and Purdue as other B1G teams that sell booze.

Would you like to see alcohol sold at The Big House?

The two events at Michigan Stadium that have served alcohol (Winter Classic & Man U vs Real Madrid) yeilded only 3 arrests between them.  The only arrest from the soccer game was for the fan that jumped on the field.

Drinking a cold Molson in the snow at the Classic was just amazing.  I'm all for it, but I do remember thinking the stadium needed more bathrooms when beer was sold.

No.

If something is done, make changes to what is allowed to be brought into the stadium (allow water, pop, etc)

We brought our own in the 70s and, other than the occasional idiot, people rarely got more than a mild buzz on. Speaking generally tailgates were shorter and only a small percentage of fans arrived noticeably intoxicated. Having a cold beverage or two or three over the course of the game was great. The notion that Michigan is a "dry" stadium is something of a misnomer. Yes alcohol was not for sale in the stadium but for much if it's history it was certainly available and openly for consumers of drinking age.

Society should control when or if I drink. We need more restrictions in our country and more laws /s. It's funny when you go overseas you're more free now and we're the land of the free. People ask why I go to Greece, Brazil, Mexico, and even Israel to name a few. It is nice to be able to see people living and having fun. Freedom does cost, even something as small as this. A select few will act like idiots, but why do we continue to punish everyone, because a select few are idiots? We have way too many rules and social laws.
