W Lacrosse beats OSU for 2nd straight year, first B1G home win in program history
First year head coach Hannah Nielsen picked up her biggest win of this season so far. Michigan took on Ohio State at home today at U-M Lacrosse Stadium in the first B1G game played at the new stadium.
Last season, Michigan scored the first-ever B1G win in program history with a 12-11 OT win at Ohio Stadium over the Buckeyes.
OSU no doubt wanted revenge. Michigan's program is only 5 years old versus the 23-year-old OSU program.
Michigan led by as many a 3 goals today but OSU tied the game at 7-7 deep into the second half. The Wolverines took the lead for good on a Molly Garrett goal with 2:19 left in the game.
Michigan put it away with a goal by Adriana Pendino with 24 seconds left, giving her a hat trick.
Michigan beats OSU for the second straight season, 9-7. This is the first B1G home win in program history. The first B1G win, B1G home win and B1G road win in program history have all come against Ohio State.
Michigan is now 4-5 and 1-0 in the B1G. Michigan has played a tough schedule this season with 3 Top-10 non-conference games. Add another one as Hannah Nielsen returns to the house she helped build when Michigan travels to take on #9 Northwestern on Friday.
