247 just updated their basketball rankings for 2023 and there is some interesting movement:

Isaiah Collier is now the #1 player in the country

Elmarko Jackson has risen to be the #18 player in the country

Zayden High is the #55 player in the country

Former 2022 target who reclassified to 2023, Eric Dailey, is the #62 player

In state Curtis Williams is the #78 player

Carey Booth is the #90 player

Papa Kante is the #91 player

Former top 5 player JJ Taylor, who has a Michigan offer, has fallen to #117 player in the country

Really need to close on Jackson and Kante. Getting Collier and High would be icing, but Collier is a bigger need than High. We really need some guards on the roster.

We need to get those guys committed.  For some reason MSU has the 8th, 33th, 45th and 94th ranked players.    Don't understand why players want to go there if they have the dream of playing in the NBA?   Do they win yes but they don't know how to develop players or make them better while at MSU.   Plus Izzo is a fraud.

Second MSU just got Jalen Thompson to commit for football and are in on some other highly ranked players.  Wtf is going on they must be giving some NIL money or something.   In saying that Michigan needs to step it up in football recruiting.      Sucks that MSU might get it's highest ranked class ever.   Fcuk the Spartans

Juwan has been open about the need to step the NIL game up a lot. Look at Oregon already for the 2023 class, for example. Two five stars and a four star. Iowa St is in the top 5 right now as well. You know money has to be funneling that way for those teams to be getting top players and Michigan has yet to get one commit. I think Kante is a perfect example, it was largely believed he would be a commit by now and he’s still open to schools not even in his top 4. That to me signals he’s open to the best deal out there. Elmarko is the one we need to make sure we land above all else because he is a talented and a legacy.

Izzo is still a very good coach, but he's very rigid in his style and system and will force whoever is on his team into the roles for his system and his way. It is disappointing to see Michigan suffer a bit in this recruiting class compared to them judging the programs under the last couple of years.

This class may end up being a really good class when it’s all said and done but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m a little surprised Michigan hasn’t even gotten a commit in this 2023 cycle yet. You look back at all of Juwan’s classes, he always has one or two commits in the summer.
