Personally, I like it. I realize it's not to everyone's taste, and there are those people who don't care for modern remakes of standard songs (and usually, I fall into this camp). But this is done with passion and affection for both the song and the university, and it's performed by a bunch of kids with a hell of a lot of talent.
Well done, guys - and Go Blue!
The neat part about this is that of all of the undergraduate programs at Michigan, and there are many, many great ones, Musical Theater may be the best and even more likely the toughest to get accepted. Those students are truly the best in their field.
Speaking of "The Victors," watching clips of old games I notice that the MMB used to play it at a slightly slower tempo than it is now. It sounds a bit rushed in comparison now.
