Texas Recruiting

Submitted by gremlin on
I went to rivals to see what other offers these 4 star kids have besides Texas. Almost everyone has Oklahoma, but that's it as far as solid programs. The only three guys w/ other big offers besides Oklahoma are White, Wilson, and Wood. Now, high school fball in Texas is better than that in Michigan, but I wouldn't get worked up about our guys not having other big offers. If you recruit early guys are less likely to have tons of offers.

I think the Texas commits high rankings have a lot to do with rivals pushing out the first set of rankings so fast. I predict some of them will fall once the re-rank comes out. Most of them are probably legitimate 4stars but I don't think rivals could have went that in depth on all the 2010 players so they were probably like "this guys from Texas so he's good" just my epinion. Maybe I just don't want to believe that they've got 15 or whatever 4stars in June.

With how Texas HS football operates, a lot of these players are closer to their ceilings, and thus likely to be highly ranked.

currently are, I think his point about offer lists in early June has some merit. Or, more specifically, offer lists of committed kids. And, as Shock mentions, while some Texas 4 stars might get downgraded, its also likely that some early 3 star commits will get upgraded once their offer lists pick up or they hit more camps. Of course, some committed kids don't bother hitting camps, so it'll just depend on their senior year performance.
