I seem to recall a successful head coach who was fired by his AD just before the beginning of the NCAA tournament. A team that had a lot of talent but had underacheived during the regular season. Some unknown assistant took over and the rest is history.
An MSU assistant who wasn't around during all of this who won't have to face any scrutiny and just gets to coach basketball being elevated to head coach before the tourney may have better success than Dead Man Walking Izzo.
I hope Izzo stays until the bitter end of this season. Make him have to endure these pressers for eight more regular season games, the B1G tourney and especially, under the bright lights of the NCAA Tournament.

My gut tells me they both stay. People have short memories. Some other story will come up... Sparty will move on. The fact of the matter is that people are sheep and will believe whatever they are fed if they are fed it for long enough. Penn State is winnning championships and the NCAA lifted their sanctions early.
When everyone is in on the conspiracy, the police, the brass at the university, the prosecutors, the trail will be covered up. These sacred cows might be untouchable.
