Rivas and Scouts Differences?

Submitted by IHateScarlet on
I don't really know much about either site. But Scout says we have 17 commits. Rivals says only 18. Does anyone know why this could be? Or is it really not a big deal and I should just chill out till the season starts?

Scout is a website that ranks American football recruits, while Rivas is a place in Nicaragua. They really couldn't be any different.

Dude, Rivas was not a bad kicker. He was first-team All-Big 10 as a senior and honorable mention All-Big 10 as a junior and a sophomore, and he broke Remy's school record for career field goals. He wasn't Mike Nugent-level dominant, but he's probably the best kicker we've had in the last decade.

How anybody could watch last year's kickers and then call Rivas a "really bad kicker" is beyond me. As someone says below, I'd take him for the 2011 team in a heartbeat.

If Rivas (career 78%) was really bad, coming in on game 1 and holding the PK spot for 4 years, how would you describe our current kicking situation?

Also, oh the subject, Rivas was a 4-star(!!!) to Scout.

Last year is not exactly the standard. It was what it was, not any reason to make someone look better.

Rivas missed nine PATs in his career and missed eight FGAs inside 40 yards. Maybe "really bad" is a bit harsh, but that's not the kind of accuracy you want out of a guy who didn't have much leg.
