OT: Yankees Alex Rodriguez suspended 162 games
Adam Schefter is reporting that an MLB arbitrator has suspended Alex Rodriguez for the entire 2014 season. This is not all too surprising, but many thought the suspension could have longer. What was surprising to me was the fact that Rodriguez thought he was going to avoid a suspension.

I have mixed feelings. I was hoping the Yanks would be forced to eat his salary.
Now (I believe) they have reason to void the contract & dump the bum.

A-Rod openly challenged MLB on this entire deal. He ended up getting a light sentence in my view. Given the pervasiveness of his alleged violation and the open challenge to MLB he got off easy. If Johnny Peralta got half a season, A Rod should have gotten much worse IMHO.

Peralta got 50 games and came back for the playoffs. A-Rod is getting 162 plus the playoffs. That's about 3.5 x Peralta's penalty, not double.

As I think he is being made an example of more then others. Granted I know he did what he did but damn guys there are tons of players who did it to and got no punishment at all. There are some that did receive some sort of punishment but as mush as A Rod is a turd he makes a lot of LF sense on certain points regarding injustice and trying abolish contracts etc. The part I hate is that MLB knew these guys were doing Roids and didn't care and they also leaked the sealed names so that would be brought up to everyone's attention. That's my issue as the MLB wants there cake and eat it too.
