OT: Raquel Welch dead at 82
Don't know why, but this was a surprise. For guys in their sixties, they probably had a poster of her in their bedroom on the back of a closet door.

A former co-worker of mine was Raquel's personal assistant for 15 years. (No good stories. That is all I remember.)

Her death at age 82 makes me feel even older than I am, five years her junior, since she has always been around somewhere during my time. She is probably the most illustrious graduate of my high school, La Jolla High, in San Diego. The same school that brought Michigan Curt Stephenson, the subject of an MGoBlog posting last month when someone broke his Rose Bowl record for longest touchdown reception (got to bring this back to Michigan sports!). When I arrived in La Jolla, she was still someone remembered by classmates since she was popular and made a name for herself in student government, drama, and a local beauty contest.
