I would like this move more if the Wings only gave him a one year deal.  Bertuzzi surprised me in the second half of the season and even more in the playoffs.  He showed a lot of energy that I did not expect to see from a guy his age at the end of a playoff run.  The fact is, Bertuzzi is aging and is injury prone.  The Wings do not get any younger with this move and the team is already aging rapidly with little sign of ascending younger talent outside of Jimmy Howard (who is still 26).  I think two years are just one to many for a player in the declining part of his career who is prone to injury.  I hope I am wrong.

He just played in every regular and postseason game this past season.  He missed most of 06-07 after back surgery... and the tail end of 08-09 after knee surgery.  Other than that he rarely missed games due to injury... which is quite good considering his role and style of play.

This is the first full season he has played in the past 4.  I would say that constitutes injury proned.  In my opinion, surgeries make it a little more serious than the normal wear and tear of an NHL season.  I just feel that it would have been safer to give him a year considering the injuries and his age.  I think we disagree on the severity of his injuries.

This resigning really confuses me.  Bert's play over the year declined, and he's not the physically tough player he used to be.  Plus, there's that whole Moore thing.  Yeesh.

Get this bum out of town.  Keeping him here just seems like a step backwards.
