Late Night M Hockey at Alaska (Game 2)

Submitted by redwings8831 on

Game 2 of the series from Fairbanks just started. As last night, no TV but there is a online feed from Alaska for $7 (link on mgoblue). Live stats at http://www.sidearmstats.com/uaf/mhockey/index.htm (also at http://www.collegehockeystats.net/1011/livebox/mmicakfa.n06) and live audio at http://linux0.cs.uaf.edu/radio/playlists/ksua16mono.m3u.

Much better start so far. Caporusso scored 1:25 into the first and its 1-0 Michigan with around 13 minutes left in the period.

Really powering the team tonight!  Is the only change from last night Moffatt for Fallon?  Or was that even a change?  Regardless I thought coming into the season that the 3rd line with (pick your sophomore 2nd rounder)-Treais-(pick your not-walk-on freshman forward or possibly Scooter, if he keeps producing) would be absolutely key to the season.  If they can get going that's really, really good for Michigan.  Our top two lines have way too much talent to keep not producing at the level they've primarily been not producing at, so if we can keep the third line rolling that's huge.  A lot of teams have a top line or two that can skate with anybody, but if the third line can start being a viable scoring threat, that's a difference maker.

That and showing up on Fridays...

Also Kevin Lynch has been really solid so far this year.  Good for him!

Good wins tonight for the hockey team, football team, volleyball team (over OSU) and soccer team (over NW).  GO BLUE!

Haglin gave it to Louie for his second of the game...overall it sounded like a very solid performance by the Wolverines tonight. Alaska is a pretty good team at home, so a split is not the worst thing in the world. We are back at Yost next weekend for two against Notre Dame
