HELLO: Ethan Alexander (c/o 2033)

Submitted by will on

In response to obvious excitement over the recent hire of one Jim Harbaugh, a recruit which was not expected to be announced until next wednesday decided he could wait no longer.

Ethan Alexander Nimmo, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 19 inches was born Wednesday morning in Columbus, Ohio.

Their father is proud to announce another member of the Michigan family, but is embarassed by his lack of preparation for this announcement. While custom shirts exist, they are safely stored in a box which could not be located.

Ethan was chosen as a name by his mother, and Alexander from his great-grandfathers middle name, and a WR you may remember. Showing early promise, he has strong hands. His pad level will surely develop as he matures, he is already raising his head to look around.

Mother is resting well, and the experience is proving far less difficult so far than the twins were. The post is actually done the day of birth!

10 fingers and 10 toes is the best news a man can ever get. Enjoy every moment and take a lot of pictures. Lack of sleep made me forget most of the first two years when mine were born.

But, why are you posting this on a Michigan sports website to make it look like a recruit and not without an OT?  Do you really need hundreds of people you've never met to give you courtesy congratulations?

I have no doubt that your new son is the most important thing to have happened to you and that you want to share him with the whole world by putting him all over the Internet, but I really hate to break it to you, most of us are ambivalent, at best, that a Michigan fan has had a child. So, again, I give you the congratualtions you're seeking, but also really need to question why this is here in the first place.

And they are not masquerading as a Hello Post during the last month of recruiting. There's also an obvious inclusiveness in the drinking on Friday night threads that encourages conversation. This post doesn't have that as it is, for all intent and purpose, a birth anouncement.

That a branch of MGoBlog is added for personal shit like this that's utterly pointless, and rather stupid. Maybe you should celebrate the news with your family and not with random internet users who could have any number of intentions. I would be utterly embarrassed and ashamed if I spawned from someone who felt my birth was newsworthy for a sports blog. Unreal...

What's the deal with all the negs on this thread? What sad people there are on the board sometimes. Announcements like this and worded like this for newborns are an accepted part of the blog. Deal with it. Anyways, congratulations on the little guy! Raising a kid is the most difficult thing you'll ever do and your life will never be the same again, but I mean that in a good way.

In any large group of people there are petty, bitchy, low-grade sociopaths who hate the idea of somebody celebrating the birth of their child. The option of simply not commenting, let alone not reading the post to begin with, is for some reason never followed.

Hi, who are you again? As the amount of people upvoting this vs downvoting it shows, most people know how this works on here and didn't think it was something to get your panties in a twist about (even if there was a faux pas in the title). Additionally, as our primary biological purpose in life is to procreate and carry on the species, it is actually a bit on the edge of being a sociopath to not just not be excited about a birth, but to actually show negativity towards it.
