Experiences at Breslin last night

For anyone that went to Breslin last night,  how was your experience? I went with the Maize Rage and we were obviously cheering when Michigan scored and what not so we were probably irking the fans around us.

I had never been to a road stadium before so I can't compare experiences,  but I've never been flipped off, had explicit things said about my family,  etc. so much in my life.

What stood out the most was when I left the arena an MSU fan ~60 years old shoved a hat in my face and yelled "fuck Michigan,  we're Big Ten Champs, you like that?" For whatever reason I entertained him with a response and said I didn't like it and he said "fuck you,  I hope you don't make it back to Ann Arbor."

Weird stuff...It seemed like a mild version of Columbus from the stories I've heard. Did anyone have a similar experience,  or was this likely just because I went with the Maize Rage?

I was there with my wife and 2 kids and had no issue. In fact, 2 dudes were standing in front of us a lot, and a guy from a few rows behind us came down to tell them to sit down because my kids couldn't see.  We were well decked out in Michigan garb too.  Result of the game stunk, but the experience was good. That was the first time I had been there since 1993.

There’s always a lot of lore that gets breathlessly spun in these threads...

Suffice it to say there’s generally not a problem with MSU fans raging out and assaulting Michigan fans (or anyone else’s fans) visiting East Lansing, most people are just enjoying an afternoon with their friends and family while taking in a game, and if the folks exactly like you from two towns over are “inbred mutants” (as attested to by someone in this thread) because they wear green shirts instead of blue shirts then there’s a high likelihood that you, too, are an inbred mutant. Because we literally come from the same communities (really... genetic inferiority... didn’t see that specific slam on us coming, TBH).

But by all means, encourage your bretheren to stay home in the future. Y’all silly.

This shit is made up. If you're a drunk guy that likes to get into stuff with drunk guys of opposing fanbases, then yes, this stuff can happen. But this story is either made up, embellished, or he was a guilty party of my first statement.

I've gone to many away games in my life, completely sober, and I've never had a single bad experience. So many different fanbases make stories up like this after losses just so they'll feel better. Several other people in this thread have mentioned they were also in the Maize Rage on Saturday and didn't experience anything that the OP said he experienced.
