Big 12 bringing back conference championship game in 2017

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Big 12 Conference unanimously voted Friday to bring back a conference championship game. With a round robin conference schedule, this doesn't make much sense except for a potential money grab.

They also will most likely create two 5-team divisions. Not sure what the point of that is either.

yeah this is just a desperate move to keep oklahoma in the conference. I doubt it works beyond the current tv deal, if even that. Truly senseless to have a round robin with a 9-0 team vs 6-3 team and call it a championship

KSU grad here. They had to do this and I assume expansion will happen before that 2017 title game. I hate all of this conference realignment bullshit, but this and hopefully the addition of 2-4 more teams will keep my alma mater from slipping to oblivion when the big 4 conferences really decide to destroy schools.

Also, lol at people complaining about it being a "money grab". Of course it is, and so is pretty much every move made by every school and conference in the country.
