Any ND fans bitching about the refs and the clock
They should really be bitching at Golden Tate for not going down immediately when he caught the ball at midfield. ND still had a timeout. I don't know if that's bad coaching or just a brain fart, or both.
But either way, you can't blame the refs for the clock. The kickoff touched a ND player and 2 seconds came off. it was the right call.

When I saw Tate start running after making that catch, I was assuming there would be a bit of a hook and ladder a-la Boise State in Fiesta Bowl and Purdue against Michigan last year

i couldnt believe tate tried to run toi the far sideline allowing the clock to just tick out ... great win

Yep. Replay showed the officials got that one right. Tate blew it by not going down soon enough. They should blame their coach for not making it clear to the receivers beforehand that it was not necessary to go out of bounds if they caught a pass for a first down.

Because for all that the ND fans are complaining, my friends and I (in the stands) all thought that we had a really bad pass interference call and that there were a lot of missed holding calls on ND. A few of my friends said there were 2 or 3 missed facemask calls against ND too.
