Alabama to vacate victories

I gotta say, this doesn't seem like a violation that ought to require a team to vacate victories. And I don't think Alabama and Saban are the pillars of honesty and ethics. But this violation doesn't seem that bad to me. Not nearly as bad, as say, signing 32 players.
Is this the second time Saban has had to vacate victories?
It won't happen.
As Dr. Saturday said, this punishment seems harsh for the crime, but that's because it's more for repeated offenses Alabama was already on probation for when the violations occurred. So most schools wouldn't face the same punishment for violations like this unless they are already in the crosshairs from multiple previous violations.
sounds like the Kevin Grady debate
How many books did these players give away? I can imagine that there was some financial benefit for the players who did this; we all know how much books are/were, a few books could be a couple hundred dollars in pocket. This might be worse than it sounds on the surface.
