Are there going to be any big Michigan tailgates? Or areas of Michigan tailgaters?

Unless you have a handicap license plate or placard, the cash parking is all a hefty walk from the stadium. The IM Gold lot is the closer of the two cash lots. It'll probably take you 15 minutes to walk to the stadium from there.

This is the lot where I plan to meet up with my crew (some going down Friday night, a couple of us driving down from Chicago Saturday morning).

Park on Ackerman Golf Course. Head to stadium going by Slayter Hill.
See map link.

You must have a parking pass from the John Purdue Club to park on the golf course. Or you must buy one from a JPC member. There is no public parking on Ackerman

I went to the game in '08 and will be going again Saturday. Back in '08 we parked in the "Intramural Playing Fields" area and it was only like $15, and it really wasn't a bad walk to the stadium at all (15 minutes maybe?). The tailgating scene there was pretty solid too, so as long as nothing's changed in 2 years, that's the place to go IMO...

I think that's the same as what they're now calling the IM Gold Lot. Parked there I think 6 years ago for a Michigan/Purdue game, should be a decent number of tailgaters there.
And because Purdue has resumed sucking after some good years under Tiller, parking is down to $10 in the cash lots.

If anyone is up for it, you can park free at the university garage on Waldron. Then you can bust out your best Halloween costume for Breakfast Club at the bars in the Chauncey Village area. I used to go all the time dressed as a leprechaun.

If any of you get down there on Friday night, I would highly encourage you to check out the breakfast club around 7 a.m at their bars. Most of the students will be in halloween costumes and will wear these into the games.

I'd say the Gold Lot is your best option. The walk is about 15 or 20 minutes and it's maybe $10 or $15. That's where most of the tailgating goes on.
