Future Football Schedules and Wisconsin

Submitted by ChalmersE on

I was perusing Michigan's future football schedules with a colleague who went to West Point to see the date of the Michigan-Army game in 2019.  While doing so, I noticed Wisconsin was again on Michigan's schedule in 2018, and 2019, and 2020, and 2021.  That will make six straight years -- 2022  B1G games aren't posted yet.  Whatever happened to rotating versus the B1G West teams.

Good!! Adds to our SOS for the foreseeable future; madison and wisconsin fans in general are great in my book. It should  be a excellent series, enjoy it!

UNC scheduled Wake Forest in OOC, with the games not counting for the ACC because of a similar cross divisional break in the series. I know we have a couple year break with Minnesota coming up, I wouldn't mind doing something similar with them to keep the jug series at least semi-regular.

The schedule MSU gets to end the season is a joke. I am not sure how Warde is supposed to fix any of this. Best case is to hope Meyer leaves in a year or two for some reason.

I’m not a fan of playing total cupcakes in the non conference portion of our schedule. However, we play in a brutal division, and added ND back on the schedule. I think the two remaining non conference games should be against some below average to average teams. It would be nice to have a cupcake the week before osu the way top sec schools do in their second to last game of the season. We have the coach, the coaching staff, and a roster that will soon be capable of competing for the playoffs. Let’s not shoot ourselves in the foot by having such a difficult schedule that we get worn down prior to the seasons end.

I for one would not want to play all the west division cupcakes. I don't think that helps culture, recruiting, etc. I'd rather play the 12 best teams in the conference every year, but that's me.
