Meet Arthur The Dog, MgoAnimal Lovers (Edit: STORY HAS A HAPPY ENDING)

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

I saw this story on ESPN tonight and after thinking about it I decided it's board worthy simply because it's an inspiring, emotional and ultimately happy story.  That being said, get ready to fall in love with a dog, have a renewed sense of how cruel and kind people can be and have your dusty room posts locked and loaded.  I am going to try to embed the video but it can a bit wonky on this site so if I can't get it to embed I encourage you click on the link and watch the video.

P.S. I love animals.

Yes...blubbering like a baby. That is such an awesome story for any animal lover. I am in the middle of trying to help a little dog that we are fostering. Longish story, but I am a dog lover, and help with a rescue group. This foster puppy has been either terribly abused or neglected, and we have been trying to integrate her in with our pack. She is struggling significantly, and it is a drain on us...but its looking up. I keep kicking myself for taking on the task of an unknown, dumped dog with issues; But then I see signs of the happy dog inside of her; and realize that our family was *chosen* to help get this little girl what she needs... Animals are so helpless, and some people are so cruel to them. Stories like these warm my heart. I love animals too, OP. Thanks for posting.

My max is 3, and my dearest rescue (foster failure!) Rhodesian Ridgeback just died from cancer in July, so we have a spot. I like the older one's that people ignore, but kids would love a younger one/playful, etc. So when the group needed a foster in a hurry, I went in..but she's the biggest handful. So afraid, and socially a mess...and only 5 months old. So, we have a window to get her socialized, and our hope is that she'll be happy with us. But yes, we are big rescue people--I volunteer to check out dogs in shelters, and do home checks and some transport... there are some great people trying to make up for the one's who are so shitty to dogs.
