How early do you arrive/leave for games?

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

I'm an early bird. There's only 7 days of 365 that I can be in the stadium for a Football Saturday.

We usually hit the road at 6:30. Arrive at dark leave at dark.

I go inside the stadium at as soon as the gates open, for every game. Stay until the MMB postgame show ends.

Our lot (first on right on Potter off Main) is cleared by the time we leave and it's always dark.

Coming from just outside of Windsor ON, we leave at 6:00 AM and arrive in Ann Arbor around 7:15.  Last year for OSU I think we left at 5:30 AM and probably should have left at 5:00 AM.

I only get the opportunity to go to the big house every couple of years

My wife is going out of town this weekend. My plan is to not go to bed at all Friday and sit on the back porch with my best friend(dog) smoking ribs all night and watching last years games on dvr.

Also, can someone come check on me Sunday morning? TYIA

Living The Dream
Retired and bought a second home in Burns Park area. Son lives there full time. I am about to visit for the first 5 games and just walk on over. Flexible timing for weather and other games on TV, but enjoy team warm ups and the band show.

We bought a tailgate house on Hutchins and are always up bright and early, first drink by 0700. Always always always in stadium to see the band come out. That is non negotiable. As is staying until the end, even when it's bitter. So excited!

because I don't want anyone stealing my parking spot.  I don't park in a prime tailgating location because we drive in from 250 miles away, so we arrive on the late side.

We do a 45 min to an hour tailgate (a couple of beers and some snacks) with a few friends and time our arrival so we can see the band take the field.  If we can get into town earlier, we'll catch warm up.

I tend to stay until the last seconds tick off the clock, but if it's a major blow out, we will leave with about 5 minutes left.  By then, the 3rd string is yielding to the 4th/whoever hasn't played and isn't redshirting.

For games that we tailgate for we usually get to AA Pioneer between 0630. Breakfast and lunch before the game and then we usually hang out and tailgate and cook dinner 2 hours after the game. For games that I don't tailgate for I usually get to Hopcat at 1000.

I like to start tailgating a few hours before and the tailgate ends when the band starts to make its way to the field. And usually I pound a few beers right before I hear them coming.

I am headed to the PSU game and am leaving in about five minutes. I don't want to miss it so off I go. I leave almost a month early because I walk from Florida... I dont have a car. I also don't eat on game days and never wear a coat.

For noon games me and my family arrive around 6:30am at Pioneer get everything set up. We go in hour before the game. Leave a few hours later grill again a few beverages. 3:30pm games little past 7am same routine besides we don't make breakfast just little bit and make lunch/dinner. Leave 90 minutes after just hang out and beverages.
