Imbibing Bud Light and watching the Tigers beat up on the Sox. One is great, the other is not. The Tigers are up 8-4 going into the top of 9.

on the MLB.com app on my phone. When you watch it this way, it makes Nathan look worse because all the at-bats are accelerated to single pitches/plays. Mostly it kinda looks like: hit, hit, walk, out, run, stupid-ass-shift-Nathan-racing-guy-to-3rd-and-losing, sac fly gave-away-a-run-because-stupid-ass-shift, out, out. All in about a minute or so. The compressed action makes it look more action-packed - which action is NOT what you want to see in a closer.

I love DD but the bullpen has been a mess for years. I know he's tried to fix it but the results are not there.
Even when Valverde had a perfect regular season we were still flirting with disaster.
Apparently the 9th inning is just plain cursed. Joba has been lights out, and just plain gave up a gopher ball to the largest man in the stadium. That said it's just one game, scary thought though that Miguel had to leave the game.
