Devin Bush: Michigan's 83rd Consensus All-American

First team All-American honors by the AFCA, FWAA, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News and the Walter Camp Football Foundation have made Devin Bush, Jr. the 83rd Consensus All-American in Michigan Football history.

Bush is Michigan's 184th First Team All-American and he just narrowly missed out on becoming a Unanimous All-American. AP was the only official selector who didn't name Bush to their first team.

Michigan has had 5 Consensus All-Americans in the last 3 years.

Michigan as a program had just 1 (David Molk) from 2008-2015.

I also add my congrats to the list and wish it could be delivered in-person.  The only disappointment is that Michigan had the #1 defense, 10 wins, and the #6 team in the country, and Bush was the only first team All-America named by those five services.  That doesn't make sense until you realize how much importance the media must have placed on the results of the Ohio State game.  That definitely cost some national recognition since the game was so much in the spotlight that day.  Of course, we also think that was a disaster but I'm not sure it wasn't more of a failure of the coaching strategy rather than effort of the players.

You would think that the results of that game would have equal or more bearing on the all-Big 10 teams but M was well represented on them.  Heck, M had 8 first teamers on the coaches' all-B1G team and OSU had just 4.
