Instant Replay can Negate Hurry-up Offensive Strategy In the Illinois game, Roundtree's touchdown was reviewed and reversed. The delay gave the Illini time to catch their wind and mount a goal line stand that was the turning point of the game. If Roundtree had been called down at the 1, and play continued immediately, we would have had a better chance to score on the next play or 2 and probably win the game. We would have been up 3 touchdowns at that point. The replay more than wrecks the rhythm of the game. I think it can affect the outcome and is biased against teams with an offensivie strategy geared to wear down the defense by applying relentless pressure.
