Thank you for donating.  It is a very good thing to do.  I don't think I'm a better or worse person for doing it.  I simply think it is a better way to spend one's energy, time and money than to launch attacks on people who post on blogs.

Second, I didn't initiate the ad hominem attacks.  I am guilty of responding in kind and should have refrained, so for that I apologize and regret it.  But I'm not afraid to identify who I am.  I don't feel the need to hide.  And, frankly, I don't appreciate being attacked or falsely accused of things or being called irrational simply because people disagree with me.

I'm a fan of Michigan  and I'm entitled to my opinion.  No one has to agree with me, and that's perfectly fine. But my opinion doesn't require statistical support and shouldn't solicit meanness.

If that's wrong, well, maybe you're right, I should signoff.

Better still Instead of subscribing to the newsletter, donate at www.nmss.org.  That way I know at least you're willing to do something positive in life.
Newsletter Absolutely.  You can subscribe at www.selfesteem.com
Ban me Brian: Yes, please ban me.  That would show that its ok to call someone a douchebag or child molestor here, while anyone who expresses criticism of Michigan or offers their own opinion (whether expert or not) should be banned.  Excellent suggestion.  That'll show me.
Thank you

For the first reasonable response to my post.

And most of what you say I agree with wholeheartedly.  Carr was a great coach, but past his prime.

I also was highly frustrated by the spread offense beating us so badly (not just App State, but Oregon too) and consistent losses to OSU.  [Going to Ohio State law school did nothing to alter my love for my alma mater and the football team FYI].  I also think once OSU got Pryor (which admittedly was after we got RR), that they were headed for the spread offense too.  He is someone to be feared from what I've seen so far.

But my main argument is, he has tried to completely change the program without the matching talent.  I've heard all the arguments in favor of doing so (wanting to teach the young players the new system from the get go), but I think there should have been some middle ground.  Threet is the best of the 3 QBs we've got, but can't handle the offense right now.  What is wrong with the concept of being somewhere between the Pro offense and the spread?

But as for wanting him to go now, I just don't think he can turn it around.  Not in the 3 years every one is giving him.  At WVU he had White, who was custom made for the spread.  I'm not sure he's going to fill all those scholarships in time to change to his system.  And that's a lot of time and wasted opportunities.

Plus, missing a bowl game is a big deal.  We lose a LOT of money for the University by not going to a bowl.

But since obviously, everyone thinks I'm either a douche or a child molestor, I'll have to leave it at that.

Thanks

for the free plug.  I appreciate it.

And it really moves the football debate along.

A good question

Finally, someone who would rather debate issues than launch personal attacks.

Granted, Herron hasn't had a lot of playing time.  But he is a redshirt freshman and there are some other guys who are getting more time.  Granted, he's only had 2 assisted tackles.  But this kid has great potential.  If RichRod ever lets him play.  He has speed and a good head for the game.  Look at his information on Rivals.com.  I grew up watching Penn State LBs and feel I have a pretty good eye for LBs.  He may not be in the top of the NCAA now, but I think its a factor of playing time.  I don't think you have to eat crow now, but perhaps in a year or two, Herron will be one of the best on the squad.

But that's my opinion.

Have you heard of libel? You sure you want to leave that post up bluetell?  If you looked at my profile, you know I'm a lawyer.  Do you really want to risk a libel suit?
Failure?

You are fantastically clever.  You did a Google search on my name and found my website.

Which part is the failure? That I have my own law practice? That I know how to spell?  That I haven't lost a trial in the last 10 years? or that I support the National MS Foundation because my wife has MS?  Really, enlighten me.  Which part is the failure?  And what are your accomplishments in life?

You don't even identify yourself.  You all use these geek Internet names, hiding behind a mask.  That is exceptionally brave of you all.

You want to attack me because I know how to spell and use grammar? When was the last time a personal attack was a valid debating technique?

Is mgoblog.com only for people who blindly support Michigan football and no criticism is allowed?  Really?

No one is ever allowed to criticize the coach?  No one is ever allowed to support players that are trying hard and, to no fault of their own, are being criticized by the media?

Well, that's a really rational blog.  Attack anyone who ever says anything negative or attempts to offer constructive criticism.  I'm truly sad that you think so little of your Michigan education.

Trolls?

Do you guys collect troll dolls?  Or are you so geeky that you have to use a derogatory term like trolls for people who don't agree with you.  Straighten your pocket protector, Myron.

Sad that people who claim to be Michigan grads or fans of Michigan are willing to exhibit such lower levels of intelligence.  I expected better.  Throwing your money into a fireplace would clearly have been a more productive use of your money than the tuition you paid.  Better still, you should have gone to an inferior school like OSU or PSU or MSU.  That way those of us who actually use our brains wouldn't have to be associated with you in any way.

Are you so threatened by people who have a differing opinion than you?  If so, it's time to return to your cubicles and suck the teets of your bosses.

Gee, you used the term myopic.  Actually, you probably Googled 'short sighted' and like a dweeb who has just taken a moment away from masturbation to use a thesaurus are patting yourself on the back.

After Michigan goes 4-8 this year and maybe, just maybe, 5-7 next year, you'll reconsider your blind faith in RichRod.  When Tyrelle Prior decided not to come to Michigan, you should have all read the writing on the wall.

Have fun.  Troll indeed.

You were an econ major? Well, please don't repeat that to anyone, because I was an Economics Major too and I really would prefer not to be associated with traders like you.  Hey, and thanks for blowing my 401k account too!  You traders are as good working on the market as you are knowledgeable about football (FYI, that's a simile, douchebag).
Douchbag . . . is spelled "douchebag".
Right! Heaven forbid . . . . . . anyone should ever say anything truthful or honest or negative about Coach Rodriguez.  If he told you to jump off a bridge, would you do that too?
Things I know nothing about?

One of the things I know MOST about is college football and specifically Michigan football.  Some of my good friends are former team members.  I have never booed the players.  I realize that, unlike the pros, the players are a direct product of their coaches and the coaching scheme.  Please cite for me in my original post where I booed or blamed the players? Don't put your words in my mouth, particularly when they are such uneducated words.

I'm a rich alum? HA! That accusation is rich. I barely am able to pay my bills each month and I've never belonged to a country club.  When I donate to the Alumni Association and to my alma mater, LS&A Fund, and sometimes to the Economics Dept., I give even when it hurts. So, perhaps its YOU who shouldn't be "running your mouth about things you know nothing about."

A lot

First, learn to spell.  You're a recent graduate and you spell "irrational" with an "e"??

Second, you think "explain please" is a complete sentence?  Are you an engineering grad?

McGuffie was one of the best running backs in the State of Texas in high school.  I've never even seen the YouTube video so talked about.  But I've seen him play - in person.  He is impressive, especially for a true freshman and I've seen some of the best in person (Anthony Thomas; Chris Perry; etc.)

I don't know what linebacker corps you're looking at, but Obi Ezeh, Jonas Mouton, Austin Panter, and Brandon Herron are fantastic LBs.  They're young, but that doesn't make them bad.  Each of those four will be playing in the pros in 2-3 years.  Several of the legitimate media support this assertion.

Finally, what you don't understand is that in the real world, if you screw up at your job and perform worse than anyone even predicted, you lose your job.  You're fired.  "RichRod" hasn't even lived up to the lowest of expectations.  I would think beating one of the worst teams in the MAC should still be an easy accomplishment even for a program in transition.

So, clearly, you don't even understand how business works.  You invest capital and if the leader of that company doesn't provide a reasonable ROI (that's return on investment, because you probably don't know) or the ROI isn't in the foreseeable future, that leader is replaced.

Grow up and you will understand.

Hey turbo cool

Maybe when you grow up, you'll understand.
