Blueinuk and Burge333 - appreciate the responses. I forgot ESPN was showing these overseas (as I heard everyone's favorite, Dickie V will be calling the Final 4 on ESPN International). I'll be staying at fairly large hotels, but should be close to bars and I will keep in mind that it will be on ESPN International - thanks Burge! I'll actually be in NZ from April 16-May 1. Not enough time, but checking out Queenstown, Wanaka, Franz Josef, Christchurch/Akaroa and then Auckland before hitting the Great Barrier Reef area back in Aus. If you're in one of those areas and UM happens to win, we should get a celebratory drink! (Traveling alone, I know no nobody!)
Long-time lurker, figured this would be a great place to get some help. I'm going to Australia tomorrow (Monday evening) and will be in Melbourne for the Final 4 (and then in Sydney if we win).
Anyone have any experience either watching the NCAA tourney abroad (I read that CBS MMOD doesn't work outside US) or know of any bars in Melbourne and/or Sydney to watch the games? I can't wait for the early-mid morning start over there.
I'm doing a google search also, but so far no luck and will certainly ask people over there, but just wanted to see if any of you had first hand experience either in Australian bars or watching the tourney from anywhere else overseas. I did check the bar locator map, but didn't see anything.
