I think Michigan should be paying close attention to the Xavier - 'Nova game tonight.
Villanova seems like a very weak 2 seed to me. They have that early season, neutral sight, win against a very raw Kansas team (at the time) but have gotten dismantled by Creighton at home and away (Creighton is good - but stop getting blown out).
I think a loss at Xaiver could push Villanova from the 2 to the 3 and move Michigan up to a solid 2 position.
Sort of OT, but how great was it last night when it was 33-12 and Stanford comes to the line in some crazy formation and continues to shift 4 or 5 times and then just runs it off tackle? The camera shoots to Bud Foster and he is LIVID and then the camera shoots to Harbaugh and it's business as usual. I LOVED IT. The guy doesn't give a s**t.
Seriously, we are completely over looking this team. This isn't Delaware State. This is a hell of a lot closer to App State than we think. Look at Va Tech.
Over the last few years I have kind of forced myself to like the guys on the team as much as I liked Hart, Henne, Long, and company. I have finally found that in Molk and DRob. These guys are good guys and class individuals!
Right - I watched the ND game last night, and I have to say, if Crist doesn't have his first look, he really freaks out and often time was sacked. Also, Siller had a chance at a BOMB that he straight up dropped and I thought it really exposed the Safeties for ND. Rod will have them ready to ROCK. I expect a W.
ND scored 23 points on a pretty horrible Purdue defense. Why are all of these "experts" predicting Michigan to give up all sorts of points when I would put Michigan's defense up against Purdue's any day of the week. NEED TO RATTLE CRIST!
Completely agree. Although, I think if Minor gets into the open field - he can be damn fast - not as fast as Brown, but he would definitely run away from people.
Keep the format, move it back though - a 42 yard field goal is too damn easy - maybe I'm just bitter about the fact that's what MSU needed (had Caper not run through our defense like it wasnt there).
I remember back in 2007 when Hart was hurt and Brown and Minor were filling in for him, they were best when they KNEW they were going to be the only backs. Against Illinois, they were awesome, because they knew, no matter what, they were going to be THE ONES to get the carries. I think the same thing happens here with Minor. He knows he's the one to get the carries this week, I expect big things as a result. I expect a performance like his first half against PSU last year for 4 quarters this week - if that happens, I LOVE our chances.
Pretty hilarious last night on their dumb ass all-access show, they have the top 10 best plays of all-time in MSU football history. Well, coming in at #8 was the Javon Ringer/Shawn Crable run from 2007 where Ringer reversed field and was chased down by Crable at the 5 yard line. I thought it was classic Sparty that this play (coming in a loss) would be a top 10 play OF ALL TIME, when MSU didn't score on the play, lost the game, and was actually probably a better play by Crable to miss the initial tackle, get up, run 70 yards acrossed field, and make the tackle. This is just classic sparty.
This doesn't really pertain to the TEs, but I was thinking today, that, with the emergence of Daryl Stonum as a formiddable force in the Return game, I would LOVE to see a Kick Off return REVERSE with Stonum handing off to Kelvin Grady or whoever the fastest is that is lined up the row in front of Stonum. This would catch those clowns off guard and really take the air out of their sails!
