A lot of us young guys are still wondering what it feels like to watch a rose bowl in general. Think the last time Michigan went was what, 2006 season?
Nasty weather that day. Remember looking up and down rows with water drops on everyone's noses. Alternating rain n snow. Heater in car decided not to work on way home. Son still claims numbness in one of his fingers. Let's take it to them early today Go Blue
At Sauerkraut festival in Waynesville OH. Michigan garb on of course. Got several Go Blue along the way. Many your brave wearing that around here comments. Can't wait till game time
Go check out Rudock's stats through the first 5-7 games. Speight beats him or roughly matches him in almost every statistical category. We always talk about how the OSU team you see at the beginning of the year isn't the one we see at the end of the year, because they improve and continually grow. Harbaugh and the rest of these coaches are going to see to it that we become the same way each season. Mistakes will be ironed out, players will develop, etc.
Actually, the beer policy is just a Michigan thing (as well as a lot of other schools), but not a policy as a whole on the college level. Miami (NTM) just started serving alcohol at games, and University of Cincinnati has been serving for a few years now I know, just off the top of my head.
But we do play teams that Northwestern plays, and like many have said already, they are the type of team that could go and take out an Iowa or Wisconsin, which will make our own SOS weaker. Granted, you could say that about everyone our opponents play, but still is always nice to see B10 do well out of conference.
Don't know if there was a single "bad" play that stood out, but the MooN game as a whole stands out as one of the more atrocious games of the decade. Neither team wanted to win or play football that day it seemed like.
Grandfather went to Michigan in late 20's. Took me to a lot of games in early to late 60's. Favorite player was Jack Clancy WR. He passed in 68 never seeing Bo coach. He would have loved Bo. Lived in Ohio entire life so plenty of highs and trying times loving UM My son was hooked from birth tried and true-maize and blue.
The only pro to going to Wisconsin, like you said, is we haven't played them in forever. If you've seen UM play Penn St recently, I'd pick Wisconsin. But if you haven't seem Michigan play either in some time, then go with Penn St. Nothing better than hearing "We own Penn St" chants echo through the stadium.
You know those jugs machines don't shoot out balls lightly, right? Even when standing from a distance, wide receivers occasionally drop balls shooting out of these. To be doing it from that close and not having the ball shoot through your hands is insane.
The one thing I don't understand is the "regression" he mentions towards the beginning of the article that Michigan underwent the second half of the season. Sure, the second half record wasn't as good, and the OSU loss terribly ugly, but otherwise the offense overall improved tenfold, and the defense was expected to fall back a bit as the SOS increased. I overall felt much better about the team at the end of the season rather than the first half of the season.
I live in Ohio and I didn't even know it would be considered abnormal to ask for separate checks? I remember when I studied abroad overseas literally no restaurant over there split checks, and it was a total PITA for all my Ohio friends and I.
Fifth Third Field in Dayton for the Dragons is always a good time. One of the most successful minor league franchises in terms of ticket sales - 1000 consecutive sellouts or something crazy like that. My dad and I had season tickets when they first opened when I was a kid in the early 2000s. Always a fun time!
This has potential to be the best year for me. Cleveland sports fan here, so the Cavs taking home hardware alone sets this year apart, but add that to the Indians being on a tear and setting themselves up for the playoffs, plus a potentially huge season for Michigan, and 2016 is a pretty kick-ass year. Hell, even the Browns at least have a new coach and renewed hope this season.
Exact reason I was unable to go to Michigan when I was accepted from out-of-state in 2013. It was going to cost me 40k plus another 10k for room and board. Approximately 200 k in debt wasn't worth it when I also planned to attend graduate school. Plus, being an elite university, they don't offer much in the terms of academic scholarships other schools offer automatically for things such as ACT schools. It is an elite university, so I can't blame them for not needing to offer much in scholarships since they know people will still come, but for families that don't come from a super wealthy background, it's tough to afford.
Think 2 on 2 off would be great. Each class coming in would get to experience atmosphere of that game. Also everyone clamoring for night games - continue UTL against ND. Worked out well for us so far
Santorini is very cheap. If traveling on a budget, you can find places as cheap as 10 dollars a night during non peak season, and even still it's absolutely beautiful. You can rent ATV's to cover the whole island and it's an absolute blast, for both young and old.
I had the privilege of visiting Plitvice and I have to say it is one my favorite days of my life thus far. Stayed in Zadar, drove there and spent the day hiking. Everything was beautiful, from start to end.
Plitvice National Park in Croatia, or the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland on a sunny day. Also the highest point in the El Yunque Rainforest in PR was one of the most magnificent views I've ever seen.
Yeah, I wasn't able to take it much faster than that, fortunately I only had it a year or so and it only had to be used solely for driving around my town. The RPMs on it were insane when I'd get some speed going though. A minor fender bender a year later and insurance wouldn't cover me on a car that old, and basically gave me 1000 dollars and told me to get a new car haha
