This is worth a listen.  Not…

This is worth a listen.  Not a bad guy.  Obviously has some issues.

I think I accidentally…

I think I accidentally bought a used sailboat and booked a wedding at Fox Hills trying to click on the menu bar.

Just so we’re on the same…

Just so we’re on the same page, what’s my excuse when I show up to work tomorrow?  Fouls were 11 to 10   FT were even.   Izzo didn’t run on the court.    Winston didn’t get phantom fouls.  I’m at a loss.

Is MSU just better?

You guys are cute.  During…

You guys are cute.  During football season it’s nothing but S&P and ‘metrics’.  Now, in a sport where losses mean less it’s all about W’s and L’s.

Pathetic

Pathetic

My bad I assumed it was gasoline from their parents garage and couches from the basement.
Stupid comment It’s well known that MSU fans spend all of their disposable income on vape pens and ICP cassettes.
MSU Is ahead of UM in 62 of 67 rankings/metrics used for Massey’s composite. https://www.masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm
Because there wasn’t a confession and a rape did not occur Payne may not be the most eloquent speaker but he has been misquoted time and time again. “ Yeah, She felt like she couldn't, but, I mean, that was at the end of everything. And I was, like -- I just wasn't seeing it. Like if she wanted to leave, she could have just”
Context would be nice Every year there are about 1,000 student athletes at MSU. Is 1-2% a higher rate than the general student population? How does it compare to other large universities?
There’s that And also his dad was a fairly prominent HS basketball coach that Izzo has known for years.
Yep Totally shady. It’s not like Lou Dawkins was a HS basketball coach and there were reasons for him to know the family. Next thing you’re going to tell me is that Izzo is implicated in Dorian’s death.
Wayne State..... Is a good school with some excellent areas of study but your comment is a joke. Wayne State and all of the directional schools are typically ranked in low 100’s for public universities. MSU is around 30-40 while UM is best in state and typically top 5 nationally. Rankings can be based on questionable criteria but everything from acceptance rate, ACT scores, starting salary after graduation, etc. points in MSU’s favor over WSU. Michigan Tech is probably the closest to MSU in terms of prestige/ranking.
If ESPN.... Your entire argument is based on ‘what ESPN reported’ As for your questions, 1 and 4 answers are true and if they were violated I hope either coach pays the price. 2 and 3 being true is about as important and the opinions of posters on this blog. “ESPN reported”... 2. Show me the internal memo. 3. If the incident in #2 never happened why or how would MSU respond to that question? You want it all to be true. You want these coaches that have dominated UM to be guilty. They’re not guilty. They’re just really good, especially at beating UM. I can’t change your opinion so just know that I will be enjoying MSU’s 1 seed in March, a final four run and Dantonio making it 9-3 this fall.
ESPN reported... Based on what? A 3rd person story. If MSU is this tiny piece of shit institution that no one cares about then why is it being protected? There are so many holes in this ‘story’ but you guys have your tin foil hats on and act like MSU is on par with the Illuminati.
Agreed I have no knowledge on the specific matter but I wouldn’t be surprised if the football staff did not have knowledge of Munphery’s legal issue since he was no longer a member of the football team. Again, I’m making an assumption. Let’s be honest, it’s not like Mumphery is some stud that’s going to draw kids to the camp. Mumphery was sanctioned in early June ‘16. The camp he was invited to took place in mid June. I’m sure the arrangements were made prior to his banishment.
... The problem is that this board (and ESPN) has trouble with facts when it relates to Izzo and Dantonio. There’s a big difference between claiming Hollis and Dantonio committed a crime by obstructing justice and the fact that some dipshit invited a bunch of former MSU players to a golf outing. MSU completely shit the bed with Nassar. Everyone can agree on that. I hope anyone that protected him (willfully or through negligence) is fired and prosecuted. ESPN did a disservice to everyone by lumping these two stories together.
You must work for ESPN..... The alleged Mumphery assault took place in spring of ‘15. Mumphery played his last game for MSU in the Cotton Bowl on 1/1/15. His eligibility was over. These facts don’t fit the narrative but it’s another example of incorrect information.
That’s ridiculous Metro Detroit is approximately 4.5MM people vs Nashville’s 2MM. I’m not a Detroit apologist by any means but Detroit is the better business proposition, by far. The shitball Wings and Lions both averaged higher attendance than the Preds and Titans. **This was meant as a reply to Mr. Avon Barksdale**
Simple answer He attends and plays for Michigan. Therefore, he's a good kid and the charges were severely overblown. The three MSU players, despite a lack of charges, are guilty thugs that brutally raped a young girl.
Seems odd That you have knowledge that they raped a girl but they haven't been charged. Again, I have no idea what took place. Maybe charges are still coming?
Please tell What did they do that deserves jail time? Honest question and I'm only asking since you have obvious knowledge of what occurred.
Except Charges were filed against Perry and he was formally arraigned. When/if that happens you will get to see the three names in print.
Title IX In addition to the criminal investigation, there is a title IX investigation underway. Led by Rebecca Veidlinger. Also, an external probe being conducted on the entire football program by Jones Day law firm. Sorry to ruin the fun with facts.
Very offensive I'm not going to describe it but I think chunky pussy is a very offensive name.
Hero? Brady Hoke is a hero though? Or maybe he meant gyro? Possibly Hiro?
Sad Spartan here...

My observations from last night.

Best player on the field was Broncos WR Corey Davis.  Hands down.  Not quick, but always found a seam and has great hands.  I think he ended up with half of WMU's total yards.  2 star, 70 rated by 247.  I think he may end up being a good one.

The MSU defense is just as good as last year if not better.  The WMU TD at the end of the game was against a lot of our 2nd and 3rd teamers.  I'm not a stats guy but a 26-7 victory would've 'looked' much better.  WMU also gained 56 of their 204 yds on that drive.  I'd rather keep the starters healthy and give up that TD.

Someone commented on the pass rush.  MSU had 20 sacks last year.  There were 5 last night.  I'm not worried about the defense but who knows....with as much time as they'll be spending on the field they could suffer.  The MSU offense is the biggest threat to the MSU defense.

There is no word in the English language to adequately describe MSU's offense.  It's beyond ugly, abysmal, boring, etc.  I'm not going to waste my time talking about it as most of you have already identified the issues.  I have a bad feeling about USF next week.

Really?

That's like saying MSU is nipping at M's "heels" academically.  MSU is a top 75 National Institution.  In a vacuum MSU is a good/great school.  When you have a one of the best (top 20?) schools in the country less than an hour away I can see how it is overshadowed.

GVSU is #35 in Midwest regional schools.  Behind Kettering, Mercy and M Dearborn to name a few.

Depending on your major or desired college experience, GVSU may be the right choice over MSU.  GVSU is a fine school in a nice area.  I, along with most rankings, would disagree that MSU and GVSU are on the same level.

Like him or not Hollis has been an innovative AD. Cold War, Basketbowl, Aircraft game, etc. MSU will never be on M's level financially but he has been able to make them one of the top 20 valued athletic programs. Not bad for a school with a dumpy football stadium and a lackluster fanbase. To accuse him of exploiting our troops for fame and money is a little disrespectful. He's done several derpy things like bringing in the Situation, Gerard Butler or tweeting Burke. Honoring Veterans Day and our troops is nothing to hate him for.
Sorry for your loss

I joined specifically to respond to this topic.  I am truly sorry for your loss.  Full disclosure, I am a Spartan.  More importantly, I have a son with CF.  It's a horrible disease.  As someone mentioned above the CF community is making advances every day.  Hopefully my son and many others will live longer and more 'normal' lives.

I wanted to point out that the CF center at U of M is amazing.  Our Doctors are second to none and the entire staff is wonderful.  Kudos to U of M and the Mott facility.  I know my son is in good hands.
