There is a difference between G-League/overseas and the NBA. Short PG who can't shoot aren't NBA caliber players. Yes, Zavier does get 10 day contracts here and there, but he has never gotten a one year contract or long term contract. It's still a death sentence for non-shooting short PGs.
That being said, good for Zavier to stay in the G-League.
The coaches are waiting until 11:59pm tonight to see who will enter their name into the portal at the last minute. There may be more players for May to recruit for the open scholarship spot (GW3 spot). I prefer that he'll recruit a 4 who can play defense and rebound because the frontcourt is lacking on defense IMO.

I'm not too worried about his 3 pt shooting %. He had a wrist injury on his shooting hand since Bama game and it affected him the rest of the season. I expect him to bounce back in a big way from 27% to high 30%.

I think Cheddar is slotted for 5-10 min a game if he gets it at all. He barely played on a 8 win team, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play much with the current team.

SG: Gayle | Jones | Pippen
SF: Walters | Jones
PF: Transfer | Walters | Wolf

They need wings more than another shooting guards. They have plenty on the roster.
A wing who can play 3/4 would be ideal. If they can find an extra schollie via player leaving, a 3rd big would be in the card.
Cason is ahead of Phat Phat. Jones is also the backup PG. There's 3 so they don't need a backup PG.

I think it was Ruben Jones. Ruben Jones is the best defender on the team. Gayle is good at defending as well.

Chaundee is literally a 3 and D wing/guard. Cason is a true G who can handle and pass. Not the same type of player.
It speaks to the type of guards Dusty wants in his roster. He wants guards to be able to handle, pass, make good decisions and score.
Also, Michigan is in a good shape with Goldin so that pretty much fills the scholarship limit assuming Nimari and Jace are part of it.
