I think this is Hackett and the search committee doing there due diligence. After the last fiasco of a coache hire, this is a good sign. I don't think this means Jim Harbaugh isn't coming home, it's just we won't know for a few weeks and we must be prepared move quickly in that event. It is nice to have a plan.
Per a tweet from Chris Mortenson: Harbaugh says when it comes to his future, he 'has a recessive gene in worrying about his future' and he hasn't participated in that speculation.
That said, I prefer Miles to Schiano.
The coaching issue needs to be resolved soon. Recruits won't wait forever for this to be resolved, and rightfully so. This situation needs to be addressed much sooner than later.
With the trade options available to SF, they are going to try and trade him unless Harbaugh, directly comes out and says, that he has no more interest in the NFL and he then demands his release. Anything short of Harbaugh himself saying he's going to coach Michigan, I believe he'll be on the NFL sidelines next year.
Best of luck to the kid. I think this underscores that a permanent AD needs to be in place sooner rather than later, and that coaching situation needs to be solidfied as well. Though, that may not happen until after the NFL season.
Nice work from Ace, as usual. Not surprising that recruits are noticing the lack of development of current players under this coaching staff. It's amazed me that he landed big time recruits this past year.
Hopefully Peppers absence is injury related and not due to him wanting out.
