I came across an Mlive article a few minutes ago. A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted during the Michigan-Purdue (evening of Nov. 4) game "near Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club, 400 E. Stadium Boulevard"

"The assault took place around 10 p.m., or between the second and third quarter of the Michigan versus Purdue football game"

"A woman had been walking to her car, which was parked on the private golf course, when she was assaulted by two unknown men, according to the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety & Security (DPSS).

City of Ann Arbor Police Department on Facebook requesting for information. Also:

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to reach out to Ann Arbor Police Det. Jessica Quinn at 734-794-6930 ext. 49304 or [email protected]

Absolutely horrible. It sucks that a woman can't walk to her car and not have this happen.

Since I just posted the topic about new stadium security being installed I find it weird that it happened during the very first game it was operational. Did they know she was likely without self defense measures? Can they add more temporary lighting to the golf course for night games?

Theoretically before the new stadium security one could have brought in a number of different self defense tools. Not necessarily lethal ones, there are a wide range. Plenty of banned things were/are being snuck in, mainly booze, but who really knows what else. Totally 100% horrible people, but did they know it was the first game with security checks and used it to their advantage? I haven't heard this happening before at/outside of a Michigan game so that's the reason I found the timing weird.

Something that struck me walking out of the game on Saturday was how dark all of the areas around the stadium are. This was a concern when night games were first proposed, and it seems they've never really done much about it. Portable lights along walking routes to more common destinations like the golf courses and campus would go a long way towards lessening horrible things like this.

We don't need night games.  Only asking for trouble.  If we are stuck with them, they should have invested in lights outside the stadium rather than those flashing maize and blue things they light up when we get a field goal.

How the fuck does this happen outside a Michigan Football game?  Just sick.

insane to think we live in a society where woman can’t walk alone.

For the love of God please find these pieces of shit and don’t let them hurt anyone again.
