The NCAA has cleared Marcus Witherspoon to play immediately. It appears his story about everything being a big mixup may have panned out.

i hate that. i had a lot of hope for witherspoon being one of the gems of the 08 class.

Did Michigan just give up on Witherspoon too soon? I know USC kept Nick Perry until a couple of days ago when he was cleared. I'd like to know more about the whole situation.

but I guess there was something to read into in all of those conflicting comments from Rodriguez and Witherspoon.
