WBB vs Michigan Directional School East

With the Joyous Destruction happening yesterday, figured I would save these until today, so here they are.

Opponent: Eastern Michigan University

Result: Win, 80-44

Date: 11/24, Home

Starters: Laila Phelia, Cam Williams, Taylor Williams, Jordan Hobbs, Lauren Hansen (same as last 4 games)

Injuries/inactives: none, everybody played by the end of the first quarter

Offense:

• First bucket featured 2 offensive rebounds before a Cam putback went down
• Scoring drought in first 4 minutes of third quarter, missed 6 shots along with 2 turnovers until two open threes from Brett broke through
• Hustle play from Brett leading to 4 offensive rebounds
• Phelia scored 15 points in the first half on 6-12 shooting
• A few possessions played without a point guard as both Hansen and Brown were off the floor. Looked a little messy, but so has our point guard play. We'll see if they try it more often.

Defense:

• Tended to double team and trap above top of the key
• Staying vertical down low and trying to force bad shots more often than go for a steal or block
• Macy Brown with hustle to get back on a Michigan turnover to regain possession, encouraging to see from the freshman
• Nobody in double digit points for EMU

Notable stats:

• Team was 50 percent from three point range, including Kampschroeder shooting 4-4
• 23 assists today, able to pass over and through Eastern
• Chyra Chyra Chyra, oi oi oi: Evans 7-8 for 15 points on 15 minutes, mostly in the fourth quarter

Overall: 

• 14-2 by halfway through the first quarter, game effectively over. Not a phenomenal performance, but a good team effort. Everybody got double digit minutes besides Stuck who only got 6.

Miscellaneous: 

• I watched the replay of this, as I was out of town with family and B1G+ skipped about 4 minutes of the stream in the second quarter. Thanks so much for this low quality product.
